Integrated Security on SQL Server data source doesn't work with RDM Mac 5.5.0.0

@everyone, The Integrated Security authentication method on SQL Server data source is broken in RDM Mac 5.5.0.0, because of a change made by Microsoft inside the framework Xamarin.Mac. We are waiting for a fix from their end. For more details on the issue, please consult https://github.com/mono/mono/issues/9028 As of now, the workaround would be to use database User to authenticate on the data source or rollback to RDM 5.4.0.0. This version can be downloaded here https://cdn.devolutions.net/download/Mac/Devolutions.RemoteDesktopManager.Mac.5.4.0.0.dmg I will update this post later when we will get more information's about the situation. Best regards,

SCP session does not allow to change from home dir to anything else

I'm using the latest version for Mac and I work mainly with SSH sessions. I can open also a scp session to the server to copy files. But in the right pane the scp session is switching to my home dir on that server and I cannot change the directory to anything else (e.g. /tmp). Is there a special way to change scp directory other than home directory?

RDM not opening or connecting to RDP sessions.

Hi, I have an ongoing issue with Devolutions RDM not opening up a new RDP connection or starting and failing with a blank, white screen. The only way to get these connections to open is by closing the entire RDM application and re-opening it. This seems to correct the problem for a while, but after a period of inactivity the problem resurfaces. Constantly having to close and reopen RDM is troubling.

Keyboard shortcut to quick find and connect directly

Hello, I recently switched from a Windows PC to a Macbook and since then I have struggled to find a way to quickly find a connection and connect directly to it, without having to search the navigation pane and press Enter / double-click to connect. In Windows, I had a keyboard shortcut for the "Quick search" function, so all I had to do was press the preset key combination, type in the name of the connection, press Enter, and then it connected. Unfortunately, I can't get it to work the same way on my Macbook. I'm running RDM in version 2025.2.6.8. I was able to set my own key combinator for the "Find quickly" function and I am actually able to find a connection with it, but what it does after I press Enter is it just looks up the connection in the navigation pane, selects it and that's it. Could you please help me set it up so that I only press Enter and it connects directly to the found connection? Thank you very much in advance. Best regards, Tomas

Major performance issues with RDM 2026.1.11.4 with macOS 26.4.1 on M5 MacBook Air

I recently purchased a MacBook Air M5 and am trying to get migrated over from a Windows machine. The entire time I've been using RDM on the Mac, it's had significant performance issues where the entire application hangs momentarily after navigating across the ribbon bar, opening/closing property windows, changing between property sections of a session, and even RDP sessions being jumpy and slowly responsive. I will note that I do NOT have these problems with Microsoft's Windows App or with Royal TSX. It seems to be something unique to RDM. And because it's not just RDP sessions that experience the slowness, I think there's something going on with the app itself and THAT is what's causing the issue with RDP. Running: RDM 2026.1.11.4 macOS Tahoe 26.4.1 MacBook Air M5, 15" 24GB RAM I have a screen recording I can provide as well that shows the performance issues I'm seeing as well as a comparison to Microsoft's Windows App.

Strange things happening

Hello there, Very strange things happening here. When I try to connect from remote netowrk, the VPN kicks in (if there is no ping it shuld try to connect to corporate VPN, I have set that up that way) And there is a specific folder renames itself to VPN password. I am masking it "VPN Password" via manually renaming it. Folder colors reset to gray, After reverting the name to it's original then folder colors turn to their original. Any ideas :D [image] [image]

SSH connection hangs with Unknown SSH message types 26, 120, 136 on macOS (ProtocolsSharp 2026.1.29.1)

**Summary** SSH connections hang silently after authentication when connecting to an OpenSSH 9.2p1 server (Debian 12 / Univention Corporate Server 5.2). The terminal opens but no output appears and the session is unresponsive. The following messages are logged: ``` Devolutions.ProtocolsSharp: 2026.1.29.1 OS: macOS Unknown SSH message type: 120 Unknown SSH message type: 136 Unknown SSH message type: 26 ``` **Environment** - RDM macOS, ProtocolsSharp 2026.1.29.1 - macOS (Apple Silicon) - Server: OpenSSH_9.2p1, OpenSSL 3.0.18 (Debian 12 / UCS 5.2) **Steps to Reproduce** 1. Create an SSH Shell entry targeting an OpenSSH 9.2p1 server on Debian 12 2. Connect using key-based authentication 3. Observe the above log messages — the session hangs with no prompt or output **Expected Behavior** Unknown message types should be handled gracefully (ignored or responded to with SSH_MSG_UNIMPLEMENTED per RFC 4253) and the connection should proceed normally. **Actual Behavior** The connection hangs indefinitely after authentication. No shell prompt is displayed. **Authentication Method** The issue occurs regardless of how the SSH key is provided: - Linking a vault SSH key entry directly to the session - Using the RDM SSH key agent Both authentication methods produce the exact same hang. Ideally I would like to use the SSH key agent workflow, but it is currently unusable due to this bug. **Additional Notes** - The same server, same SSH key, and same credentials work perfectly when connecting via iTerm2 (native macOS OpenSSH client) - The server configuration is entirely standard — no unusual extensions or custom sshd_config options - Message types 26 (KEX/algorithm negotiation range), 120 (channel-related range), and 136 (client protocols range) appear to be unrecognized by ProtocolsSharp - Since the server is OpenSSH 9.2p1 and does NOT support newer extensions like ObscureKeystrokeTiming (added in 9.5+), these message types are not being sent by the server — this suggests the issue may be on the client side within ProtocolsSharp itself **Workaround** Setting the SSH entry display mode to External (iTerm2) bypasses ProtocolsSharp entirely and works correctly.

Hello All, RDM for MacOS, how do i change the defaults for connections, not individually like for all connections? There is default settings section and there is templates and some other settings but i cant seem to make any changes even with playing multiple combination of these menu items. This should be more simpler i feel. Thx Ozzy

Cursor blink is not working

Hello all, I want to say that cursor blink is not working on RDM Free 2025.1.16.1. it does blink in ssh sessions but not in tools/terminal (local) Is there any possibility to enable that? Thanks in advance.

Recommended Answer

Hello, The internal discussion that began after I reported the behavior has led to a broader review on our side. The RDM macOS team will work on ensuring that the settings under File > Settings > Types > Terminals apply, when possible, to Tools > Terminal , including cursor blink and cursor type. They have opened an internal case for this improvement, so I will not submit a separate feature request. I will keep you updated on their progress and let you know when this improvement is included in a future update. Thank you for reporting this and for your patience while we continue working to improve the product. Best regards,

Unable to make tailscale VPN work

If I configure an SSH entry to use tailscale (no matter if manually, automatically or any other way) I am always getting the message in the screenshot or no message at all. As I did not find any documentation about the tailscale feature I am completely stuck. Can you help me here please or point me to the documentation where the use of this feature is described? Configured Shortcuts Do Not Work Inside RDP Session

Is it a feature or a limitation that I cannot use configured shortcuts inside an RDP session? I have configured a hotkey for the action “Type Clipboard” and a few others. They don’t seem to work when I’m inside an RDP session; they only work when the main RDCM window is selected as active. I’m using the latest available RDCM version on macOS Tahoe 26.4. Thanks.

This was my error =) The hotkey is indeed working, but the configured hotkey needs to be a very carefully chosen, exotic key combination that does not interfere with anything in RDM.

Batch edit does not apply “Use 1Password SSH Agent” setting

Hi, I’m using the latest version of Remote Desktop Manager for Mac (2026.1.10.3) and I’m currently trying to enable the “Use 1Password SSH Agent” option for all entries via batch edit. Unfortunately this doesn’t work. I can overwrite all other fields in batch mode, but the setting for the 1Password SSH Agent is never applied. When I edit the entries individually, the option works just fine. Is this issue specific to me, is it already known, or is there a workaround?

Remote Desktop Gateway Web Sessions not working on a mac

Hi, i am working on a Mac with 26.4 and RDM Version 2026.1.10.3. The Vault is on a Devolutions server and the connection to the session is configured via a RDM Gateway. On Windows everything is working, but on a Mac, the web Sessions are not working at all. RDP, SSH is working fine via the Gateway. What could be the problem? False rights or a unproper configured RDM? Thanks in advance [image]

Hi, We are currently working on a fix for this. In the meantime, you can disable the embedded browser login. First, go to the settings for your data source and set “Authentication browser mode” to External. [image] Then, in the application settings, go to the Advanced tab and uncheck “Use embedded browser for login.” [image] After changing these 2 settings the authentication should use safari to login. Sorry for the inconvenience. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. Best regards,

macOS Website entry always uses Safari embedded mode (cannot change browser, no session isolation)

Hello, I am using Remote Desktop Manager on Windows and macOS. On Windows, Website entries can open in isolated browser sessions, which works correctly for multi-tenant environments. On macOS, I cannot change the browser at all. In the Website entry settings, the Web browser field is disabled and shows: "Default (Always Safari in embedded mode)" Because of this, all Website entries share the same cookies and cache. Example: Customer A → admin.microsoft.com → login Customer B → admin.microsoft.com → login Both sessions share cookies I can see other customer accounts This makes RDM on macOS unusable for MSP scenarios. I also tried: Embedded browser External browser Different entries Clearing cache Private mode Different credentials Nothing works because macOS always uses Safari embedded mode. Question: Is this a limitation of the macOS version? Is there any way to use Chromium / Edge / external browser per entry? Is session isolation not supported on macOS? Screenshot attached showing the disabled browser setting. [image] Thanks.

No I try to create the Session directly in RDM as "VMware Remote Console (VMRC)" to embed it into RDM: [image] Add the vCenter Web Address and the VM ID [image] That works great and embeds the session in RDM as I want this. The only thing and sorry, this is a blocking point: It has english Keyboard layout. Keyboard in the Server is set to "German": [image] How can I tell the RDM VMRC Session to use German Keyboard instead of english?

Microsoft RDP with Yubikey (smart card) from MAC

Is it possible to use a YubiKey to connect to Microsoft servers with Remote Desktop Manager? From other forums it appears people use Devolutions RDM to do it but I can't seem to figure out how to configure it to function. From a Windows PC it works fine, when I connect to an RDP session my Smart Card Yubikey pops up and I put in my pin and I can connect. I can't get the same functionality to happen from the MAC. I am using RDM for MAC version 2022.3.15.3.

Assistance Needed: Recovering RDM Database from Google Drive

Hello Devolutions Support, I am trying to recover my Remote Desktop Manager (RDM) data after my previous computer was completely formatted. My main concern is retrieving the actual database content from Google Drive. Here is what I have observed: I can see several XML files in my Google Drive. I have checked AppDataFolder through the Google Drive API, but it appears to be empty. The XML files I found do not seem to contain the complete database content. My previous computer is no longer available. My main questions are: Is there any way to recover the full RDM database content from Google Drive if the previous PC has been formatted? Could RDM store database content in hidden or system folders in Google Drive that are not visible normally? I would greatly appreciate your guidance on how to recover as much data as possible. Thank you for your assistance,
