Hi team,
Gonna need some help here.
I initially created a contact item for each customer we support.
There, I created sub-items for servers, contact info, etc.
Now, I want to re-organize items and would like to categorize by type (servers, contacts, etc)
I noticed I was not able to create a sub for a sub on a contact e.g.:
Customer (contact)
- Servers (folder)
-- Session
So now, I created a new structure:
Customer (folder)
- Servers (folder)
-- Session
This works.. Great!
However, now I would like to MOVE the existing items into the new created folders.
I can drag-drop them, the system asks me to confirm ("Do you really want to move this selection?")
But nothing happens... The items that in their original location (sub of contact).
The only way to 'move' them is recreating the items, but I personally would like to avoid recreating 50+ items..
Could you help me out on this?
Thanks,
Rick Willeme
Hello,
If you have created them as Sub-Connections, they "belong" to their parent and cannot be dragged. The solution would be to use Refactor - Unparent to convert them into their own entities. This will allow you to move them.
If the unparent menu is not available when you select the contact, this means that my diagnosis is wrong and we need to dig further.
Best regards,
Maurice
Thanks Maurice, that actually did the job!
In that case, maybe it would be a suggestion to change the logic on this move action.
Instead of asking if I would like to move it, it should ask me to un-parent them first.
Thanks :)
