I have an issue that has been occurring since prior to the start of BETA testing with 9. With RDM, I sometimes open multiple RDP sessions (embedded) to a number of systems. If I only connect to maybe 6 or 7 servers, my tabs are only one row across the dashboard and everything is OK. If I connect to maybe a dozen systems at once (all RDP), I will end up with two rows of tabs in the dashboard (the number of servers I am mentioning is simply due to my screen resolution and how many I can fit on one line of tabs on the dashboard - I can probably reproduce the bug with only a few RDP sessions if my desktop was 640x480). Anyway, when you go from having two rows of tabs down to only one (because some RDP sessions have been closed), the display of the remote RDP sessions will resize properly for the open sessions in first row of tabs but not for those in the second row (I hope that I said that correctly). Basically, if you have two rows of tabs with RDP sessions in the dashboard, close enough sessions on the first row so that you no longer have two rows of tabs (row two tabs merge with row one), you will find that the tabs originally on the first row resized their remote displays properly but the tabs that were on the second row don't resize properly.
Let me know if I didn't explain that one well.
:-)
Thanks
I think I understand but could you post one or two print screen? Could you try to change dynamically the smart sizing?

You can disable the multi-line tab pages.
File -> Options -> User Interface -> Advanced -> User tab strip overflow (disable multiline tab pages)
Restart RDM for it to take affect

Thank you both.
Autosize works good (I can see the session get resized automatically and properly while it resizes them, but that is only for the tabs from the first row, it never resizes any tabs from row two).
Is that option post-8.9.18.0? I haven't updated past 8.9.18.0 yet because it wanted to update the SQL DB data source (and not everyone is available to do the update http://forum.devolutions.net/messages.aspx?TopicID=8333. But the other thread it seems that I can update w/o impacting the SQL data source of the group until a coworker gets back.
I also attached screen captures that show what I am seeing (one of them is the RDP session with just one row of tabs and the other is with two rows).
Is the option that you mentioned the only workaround (you can only have one row of tabs if you want to auto-resize)?
Thanks again

Hi,
I undertand now what you mean. The problem is that RDP does not support the auto resizing and by default it takes the full size available. The issue happen when that size change. The only solution is to specify a resolution or do a reconnect or make sure that this size does not change by having all the tab on the same line.

Thanks to you both. The instructions from Stéfane were spot on when I read them again and the explanation from David was great. Initially I had missed the "User Interface" portion in the instructions and went straight to the Advanced section in the configuration options (which is why I couldn't find "Use tab strip overflow"). My bad - sorry about that.
Now it works fine using a single line of tabs in the dashboard (no more worries about resizing).
