Small UI change for API key entry

Hi!

Could you make the valid from/to fields in the API key entry just be optional fields, instead of requiring a "valid from" date and the "Expires after" checkbox.

I think it would be simpler if you remove the checkbox and let both fields be empty by default

Thanks!

Hello,

Could you go into more details into your use case that makes you ask for this change? More specifically what in the current deisgn makes your entry creation inconvenient or unclear.

The reason I'm asking is because both fields are already optional. When creating an entry, you can just ignore them both and create the entry without getting blocked or prompted for anything.

Hi Michael!

  • Valid From field: The API key might not have a valid from date, or I might not know it or care to document it. It is pre-filled with the current date, which might not be correct. I'd rather have no date saved with the entry, than an incorrect date, so I'd prefer it to be optional so I can remove it.

  • Expiration Date field: It is already optional, but I find the checkbox could simply be removed by accepting an empty value in the date field. Fewer UI elements, fewer clicks.

both fields are already optional.

I couldn't find a way to remove the valid from date.

Hello Daniel,

I will verify what we can do, but it does not seem like a problem. I am pretty confident we can improve this and all the other date pickers.
