Hello,
I have a question about how "disabled" status works on folders. I see we can set disabled status on entries or folders, and if we just right-click a folder -> edit -> status -> disabled, it sets the status on both the folders and the entries contained within. I see it's also possible to edit just the folder's disabled status by editing folder properties -> Description tab -> Status setting. However, I noticed when the setting under Tree View -> Hide Disabled Entries is enabled, it only hides entries with disabled status, not folders. Furthermore, I noticed when we have a folder whose status is disabled, and we move an entry under that folder, it does not automatically change the entry's status to "disabled".
So my question is - how does the status feature work on folders? Specifically - are entries in that folder supposed to inherit the folder's status? If so - that doesn't seem to be working properly. If not - what would be the purpose of disabling a folder itself? Also, why does a disabled folder still show in the tree view, even when the Tree View -> Hide Disabled Entries setting is enabled?
Any help is appreciated!
Best regards,
David Willis
Hello David,
why does a disabled folder still show in the tree view, even when the Tree View -> Hide Disabled Entries setting is enabled?
This is because at the moment it is only possible to hide expired entries - not folders. But you can vote for this feature request, to have also an option to hide expired folders.

Hi Min,
Thank you for the reply, and for clarifying that disabled folders currently cannot be hidden - I voted for the feature request.
With that in mind, should entries placed in a folder with "disabled" status be automatically disabled themselves (in other words should the entries in the disabled folder inherit the folder's status)?
If not, what would be the purpose of disabling a folder? Are there any other benefits to doing this?
Best regards,
David Willis
Hey David,
At the moment, if you set the status on the folder level, all entries already placed in the folder will be marked as Disabled.
Moving other entries to this folder will not be marked as disabled by default. (This would be another FR)

Min
