I love the "Note/Secure Note" feature of Remote Desktop Manager, we're starting to use this to keep simple documentation about machines/connections, with the related sessions, for ease of use. We'd preferably like to be able to add Word, PDF, Image, and similar documents here (and not hidden under the attachments section), however in the meantime we're trying to use the notes functionality.
However there are a few display problems with the notes:
1) When you click on the note and see it in the dashboard it, it displays terribly. See the "Dashboard View.png" attachment.
2) When you click on the "View" button (the eye button) it also doesn't render correctly. See the "Data Entry Browser View.png" attachment.
3) To get it to render correctly you have to double click the 'Eye'/'Padlock' button which toggles the note between secure and insecure. See the "Data Entry Browser View 2.png" attachment.
Can you make the Dashboard and Data Entry Browser display like the 3rd point here?

Hi,
For the #1, you are right and this is known limitation because the dashboard is only an overview. It's an html document and it's complex to convert the RTF note into it.
For the #2 and #3, I have made two fixes and I also have patched the version 8.3.1. You can download the it or download the zip file if you already have it installed.

The next version (coming soon in beta) will allow you to save the document (word, pdf...) directly in the database

Perhaps for 1, you could switch the editor from an RTF one, to a HTML one, then the formats would be easy, no conversion, and would likely be even more lightweight.
I'll install the patched version tomorrow morning.
David, with the next version coming up, will those files be listed like Sessions/Data Entries/Credentials/Folders are listed? Or will they be listed like attachments, which are buried behind the scenes?
Do you need a note or a secure note? Because we have the Text entry also available and not in html. However here is no security (hide/view).
For your other question, it's a new document type that can be listed like sessions/data entries. We also have unified this new document type with the attachment item. They now both share the same core.

We don't need a secure note, but we do need some basic formatting. Is the text entry on the description field of another entry? Is that what you're talking about?
Excellent, I look forward to the next version. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!
Hi,
It's exactly the same RTF editor:
