What's the big deal here? I've been using RDM for years. I just downloaded the trial of PVM and I don't get the purpose of this. Anyone care to explain?
Hi
PVM is a credential management solution, but aimed at enterprises. There are security features and advanced logging that are just not present in most password management tools on the market.
As a user of RDM, you already get all of these features, but there is room on the market for a tool that empowers a client that wants to give it's non technical personnel a simple solution to use, but with strong security and enterprise oriented features.
Did I cover your question?
Maurice
Hi,
One other usage of PVM with RDM, is to split your data source in two. One with the credentials and one with the session configuration linked to your PVM credentials.

Ah, I played around and found a tutorial about setting up KeePass that helped me to understand. I never paid attention to the Credentials drop-down in the upper section of the session config.
Seems like LastPass would be more sensible since it is web-based and universal to all platforms. Right?
Yes LastPass would be much interesting but they don't offer an API. Our integration is not perfect because we need a redirection:

On a side note, the credential drop down is such a time saver
Look at it if ever you've had two sessions using the same credentials

so which password manager would integrate smoothly and work on PC, Mac, iphone, android?
Well, we believe there's no enterprise grade solution right now. That's why we will be releasing PVM for Mac (preview) in the next quarter, following that we'll start on the mobile versions

Will PVM have a web portal version?
BTW, I am very impressed that the devolutions team is so attentive in the forum. Bravo!
Web portal version is also something we would like to add but after the Mac version

Installed and configured KeePass today with S3 sync and RDM plugin. Thanks for creating that and good job! It works great.
It was quite a bear to wade through the documents for the right plugins and such so I still think you guys have a good market for PVM... turnkey and easy.
Any update on android access to PVM?
Hello,
We expect to open the gates of the beta program this quarter, this will be so you can register and show interest.
We'll wait to see the response before taking a decision for releasing the bits.
Best regards

Hi,
We use RDM Enterprise. I just see pvm is free with RDM enterprise.
I've a question, we would like to import Keepass into PVM. But did we need to create a second database for PVM? or we can import into RDM?
How to integrate PVM into RDM? Do we need to install PVM on each client?
Because we would like to use only one console RDM to manager connection and Share Password.
thanks
Hi,
RDM and PVM use the same database structure. This means that you can do both. You can use the same database or use another one if you want to split or isolate the password database.
