We use the RDM jump host feature a lot. Since ~ 1 year the jump host crashes very often, when there is an open website-session on the jump host and we connect to a rdp-session on the same jump host.
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this matter.
It appears that this is a known issue in an older version of RDM, which has been resolved in the latest release.
Could you kindly let me know which version of RDM you are currently using?
Best regards,
Tommy Sanders
Hi,
it crashes with 2024.3.13 (and each version in between this and from last year).
Do you need any logs?
Hello,
Could you please provide the logs from RDM?
In the meantime, RDM has been updated this week with additional fixes.
Could you please update it again and see if this resolves the issue?
Additionally, would it be possible for you to create a portable installation of the latest version of RDM to check if the issue still occurs?
To do this, please follow the steps below:
Please let me know if this helps.
Best regards,
Tommy Sanders
Hi, it happens with 2024.3.16.0 too.
I cant replicate the issue with the portable app, since it would have to link as a jump host, which i dont know it would do?
Hello,
This issue is most likely due to something in the local configuration of your RDM instance.
For this reason, I would recommend to reset your local configuration.
To do so, please do the following:
1- Close RDM
2- Go under your %localappdata% -> Devolutions folder
3- Rename the "RemoteDesktopManager" folder into "RemoteDesktopManager.old"
4- Start RDM
5- Connect to your data source
Once you are connected to your data source, the issue should no longer occur.
Best regards,
Tommy Sanders
Hi,
I dont think thats the case, because the local instance works perfectly fine in that case, its the jump host session that hangs. specifically the jump host rdm.exe, so to say.
Hello,
I opened a case for you and send you a remote session request.
Best regards,
Tommy Sanders
Hi @Tommy Sanders ,
the issue still exists, can we reopen that case?
Hello,
Thank you for getting back to us.
I’ve reopened the case and have sent you a request to schedule a remote session.
Best regards,
Tommy Sanders
