I have been searching and have not been able to find a good working solution on this. I recently swapped to a mac due to work projects. In the windows version of RDM they had the option for the mouse jiggler to keep your RDP sessions alive.
Is there a similair feature in the Mac version? The timeout for my companies servers is Ridiculously low, and causes my programs to close that I am running on those sessions. I have tried the keep alive function but this does not seem to work.
Thank you in advance.
Hi,
The keep alive function under RDP -> Experience -> Keep alive is essentially a mouse jiggler. It will move the mouse 1 pixel to the side and back every X seconds ( X being the setting you input ). 0 means disabled. Try setting it to something like 10 and see if it helps. If not, do you know if your company uses a different technique for timeouts that would, for example, not count a 1 pixel movement ?

Thank you,
I initially mis understood the keep alive setting. I changed it to 30 seconds to test but it did not keep the session from going to the lock screen. The mouse Jiggler function in the windows version of the RDM worked without issue. Is there a difference between Mac and Windows in that aspect? Here are my settings.

I'm sorry to hear that.
Sadly, the windows mouse jiggler is done by their RDP tool, so we can't do the same. I will open a ticket to look into why this isn't working for you and how we can fix it. Is the computer you are connecting to using Windows 11 ? And you are trying to avoid the timeout for the screen to lock, correct ?

The session I am having problems with is with my Servers, They are running Server 2016, The RDP connection to my Windows Rack Workstation does not have an issue staying alive. This is Windows 11.
Not sure if this helps, but I notice the lock screen on the servers when RDM is in the background and not my active window while I am working.
Thanks for that information. I will add this to the ticket. We will let you know when we have updates.

Maxim,
You can close your investigation. The keep alive settings are now working perfectly for all my connections whether they are Server or Windows.
I appreciate your time looking into this for me.
Hi,
Thanks for letting us know. I'll close this issue then. If there's anything else, don't hesitate to let us know.
