Constant License Window Popup and "serial number not valid" message after upgrade to 2024.2.8.0

Good morning!

I just upgraded my main laptop to v2024.2.8.0. After doing that, I got the message that the version I was running is higher than the maximum set in the teams database.

So I upgraded the main SQL Server version to match. After doing so, every time a user connects, they now get the user license manager window pop up if they are an admin, or "No Enterprise License Found" message if they are a user.

When connecting to the DB as the SA account, It also pops up the license manager. When I go in and click "Assign Missing" then save, it tells me "Your serial number is not valid." and won't do anything. After closing that pop up window a few times, sometimes it will let you do work, and sometimes not.

I modified the "Minimum Version" to 2024.1 so that I could actually connect from a machine I haven't upgraded yet. I connected to the DB no problem. and went in to check on the license. When I did, and clicked Save, I got the following message:

The UPDATE permission was denied on the column 'Licenses' of the object 'DatabaseInfo', database 'DBNAMEHERE', schema 'dbo'.

Reminder, I am logged in to the RDM Session as sa, and RDM is set to manage the accounts, DB, etc.

When I exit the License Manager and go back in, I see the following license information:

Valid until: Friday, January 31, 2025
Remote Desktop Manager
Team

Please assist as soon as possible, as I now have about 12 users on my team who have upgraded to the latest version and can no longer utilize RDM, so they are at a complete standstill!

Thank you!

Etienne,

I highly doubt it has anything to do with the key. If I use an older version, it works perfectly fine.

As long as there is no update done to any 2024.2.x version, the software works 100% flawlessly as it did prior to installing v2024.2.8.0.

If I use v2039.x.x.x, I have absolutely no issues with the key, licensing, or anything else.

@Deas provided a link to the other topic where folks are having a very similar issue.

Anything past 2024.1.x.x.x breaking stuff for users all over the world (literally).

Hello,

The new version 2024.2.10 is now available for download with fixes for the license issue.
https://cdn.devolutions.net/download/Setup.RemoteDesktopManager.2024.2.10.0.exe

Let us know if that helps!
