Occasional problems with Website autofill/autosubmit (mostly Fortinet devices)
Hi there,
we are using latest release of RDM for accessing various Fortinet devices via Website entries and experiencing occasional/random problems with credential autofill/autosubmit.
Credentials are autofilled successfully (after we set 1000ms of autofill delay), but autosubmit works maybe 50% of the time. It looks like RDM sends empty (or somehow corrupted) password, because in FortiGate logs I can see correct username but incorrect password (I don't think I can see password in cleartext in logs or debug). When I manually click on login button then it works correctly.
This doesn't happen all the time, maybe 50% of the time, and I have a feeling it depends on the response time against that device. Is there maybe some way to set autosubmit delay (or delay between autofill and autosubmit)? Or how can I send you some deeper debug output, so you can analyze it better?
I would also test it with other Website entries, but 95% of all our entries are for Fortinet devices, so that's our main concern.
Thanks for your time.
Martin
Update:
I found a way to check what password is being sent from RDM to FortiGate web, and it's empty.
This is what we can see in packet capture:
Username tmp is being sent correctly, but password/secretkey is empty, as you can see.
Do you have any idea why it happens, and why it happens only occasionally?
Thanks.

Hi,
any news about this issue?

Hello,
Unfortunately, we were not able to reproduce your issue. Would it be possible to send us a video of the issue?
I have sent you a link to safely send the video through email.
Best regards,
Carl Marien
Hi,
I uploaded the video as you requested. It shows that sometimes autofill and autosubmit works correctly, but sometimes RDM sends empty password, that's why it shows Authentication failure.

Martin
Hello Martin,
Thank you for sharing your video. I attempted to reproduce the issue on my end but did not encounter the same error.
Could you please try setting the autofill delay to 2 seconds to see if that resolves the problem?
Please let me know if this adjustment provides enough time to input the password concurrently.
Best regards,
Tommy Sanders
