How can I import a .rdm entry into multiple folders ?
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Devolutions Support.
Could you confirm which version of RDM you're currently using?
Unfortunately, from my understanding, this would not be possible as when performing the import, you need to select the import location.
That being said, I'm wondering if you've performed the import creating a shortcut of the entry would work in your case? You can do so by performing a "Right-click" on the entry in the "Navigation Pane" and going under "Edit" -> "Create Shortcut".
Let me know if this helps,
Best regards,

using 2023.3.36.0 64-bit.
I did wind up using the shortcut method you mentioned. I just had about 75 folders I needed to drop the shortcut in and was trying to avoid doing it manually.
Hello,
Thank you for your reply,
Indeed I understand, a good thing with the Shortcut is that if you perform a change to the entry, all shortcuts will be affected as they are simply pointing to the original entry.
Let me know if you have further questions regarding this,

I did not realize it would update them all - that is a huge benefit!!
I tried updating one, but nothing else updated - do I have to update the original one I copied the shortcuts from?. how would I go about finding it?.
Thanks!
Hello Mike,
Thank you for your reply,
If you perform a "Right-Click" then "Properties" on the Shortcut, it should simply open the Properties of the Original entry any changes made there will reflect on all Shortcuts of this entry it seems odd that you did not notice any changes.
Could you confirm which version of RDM you are using?

Using 2023.3.37.0 with DVLS Datastore.
for this example, I'm using an Active Directory Dashboard with variables in it.
If I change "$PARENT_NAME$" to $SITE_NAME$), it only changes it for that entry, all the other shortcuts still show the $PARENT_NAME$ variable.
I use parent and site names in the OU/Container DN as well as it mirrors how we have AD setup. Same thing, if I change one variable to another, it only affects it for that entry, not all of them.

Samuel,
I re-created the shortcuts and now it works when I edit one, they all update. Must have been something wrong with the way I originally created them.
Thanks for all your help.
Mike
