Hello,
I activated this setting today and switched it off a minute later. Not sure in which post, but I asked about enabling this setting on the central SQL database and if it activates silently and got a yes reply.
Unfortunately when I enable it, the clients immediately (after clicking in the client app) prompt that it is not enabled and I should enable it.
Sorry, but this is not what I call silently...
I think the only way to distribute this is to update the default.cfg and redistribute it. Correct?
Brgds Andreas
Hello Andreas,
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this,
To clarify, are you in a terminal server environment?
I'm also wondering if you could provide me with a screenshot of this prompt?
Let me know
Best regards,
Samuel Dery
Hello Samuel,
Latest (2023.3.25) RDM and MS SQL Datasource - as I said, I already discussed DPAPI here in a thread, but don´t know which. I think it was with Erica...
I have no screenshot at the moment, and I am not in a TS environment.
Brgds Andreas
Hello Andreas,
Thank you for your quick reply,
I see, I suspect you're referring to: https://forum.devolutions.net/topics/39917/file--options--security
I've discussed this with my colleague, and you would be correct, your users would need to enable this option on their end, updating the default.cfg would be the easiest method in this case.
Did you need assistance with this, or are you familiar with the process?
Let me know,
Best regards,
Samuel Dery
Hello Samuel,
yes - this was the thread! And Erica wrote "That's right, if you enable that option globally, the users won't notice it in RDM." Unfortunately this is not the case...
Anyway - I already updated my Default.cfg and distributed it via GPO to my clients. After this is done, I can enable it globally so nobody can deactivate it.
Brgds Andreas
Hello Andreas,
Thank you for your reply,
Indeed, my apologies for the mistake,
I'm glad to hear you've been able to generate the new default.cfg,
Let me know if you have further questions,
Best regards,
Samuel Dery
