Hi .. I really liked 'at first' the new backup feature for RDM Data Sources.
Unfortunately, it is falling foul of the typical VPN problem; where certain VPNs don't like it.
Is there a way to :
a> Change it from 'online' to something on-prem ? I seem to remember it as an option at the install, but now I cannot find a 'revert' part.
b> It appears to want to backup each time a change is made, Can we not toggle it to only backup at certain times ? (i.e. when not connected to VPN)
Right now it is bugging me every time I change or add an entry, with a 'cannot backup' error message; so it's slowly making me hate it.
Hello,
You are right, this could be annoying. I will create a ticket to improve it. We don't have an option to save it somewhere locally that could be sync by your own Cloud provider and I think this could be much easier to delayed the upload.

Hi David ..
I finally found 'where' you can change the backup, so for now I've turned it off.
A simple schedule would be a good solution, as doing it each time there is a 'change' can be a PITA; especially when it gets in the way of you making that change.
If you can't schedule it, maybe you do something like flash the backup icon in the right-hand side to indicate that the user that changes have been made since last backup.
For me .. I would then schedule a time I can disconnect from the VPN in question, then perform the backup.
Also .. rather than 'online' .. you could add-in a simple CIFS backup for locat .. in theory I could map a drive etc, but that can also be a PITA.
Just ideas .. Nothing more.
