1Password : 2FA w/ Security Key

1Password : 2FA w/ Security Key

avatar

Hi .. I've been looking into using a Security Key (YubiKey) with my 1Password setup.
Everything is setup on their end (1Password) for 2FA, and the system will accept either the key or a code from an authenticator app.

On their side .. it all works like a charm.

However, on the RDM side .. each time I go to use a Credential Entry I've setup with 1Password as the backing, it only allows me to use the authenticator app code and I don't see a place to tell it to use the Security Key.

Help.

Hello,

It is not currently supported in Remote Desktop Manager but we will have a ticket open for an improvement request!

OK, well that kill me using Security Key for the one piece it was actually going to be useful.

I can't keep typing keys from the 2FA app each time I use a Credential Entry, as I would go nuts.

Any suggestions ? Or am I stuck waiting for that feature ?

Hello,

Sadly, I do not believe we have any workaround for that at the moment.

Hello,

Support for Security keys has been implemented internally. It will be available with our 2023.1 release.

You won't have to setup anything on the RDM side, it will simply use the Security key if the account is configured with one.
