Can't connect to Database if personal vault is not connected
Hello all
If you have a personal vault linked to a database, you have to login to the personal vault otherwise you cant connect to the database.
From my point of view it is a bug, because the personal vault and the database are independent of each other.
The problem here is that if you lose or dont have a connection to you personal vault RDM quits and you also cant connect to the database.

Indeed, you should be able to connect on the "main" vault first instead of the personal vault.
What version of RDM are you running?
What type of datasource are you using?

Hello,
Could you edit your datasource (File -> DataSources -> Edit), click on the Advanced tab and press the button manage cache.
Delete the local cache, press OK and restart RDM.
Does RDM opened on the main vault or in the personal vault?

I've made some tests and was not able to reproduce your issue.
However, I found an option that may cause this behavior. Could you go in File -> Options -> User Interface -> Navigation Pane and validate the information that you have in Default Selected tab. If it's user vault, this will explain why the user vault is opening first at the opening of RDM. You should select Last selected tab or vault.
