I was having problems with my SSH Sessions not working where the program would seem to freeze after opening the connection. I noticed that if I rolled over the icon in my task bar and rolled over the preview, it would show an alert window that was hidden in the background. I can muddle my way through it to close the alert but I have to take a screenshot to read it.
Any clue what could be going on?
This is what it looks like when I go to the preview, when it is not in preview, it is just black. I am not sure if a photo explains what is happening. I can take a video if needed.

Hello,
Your first issue, has been reported to us already and a fix should be available for this in version 2021.1.22.0 of RDM.
As for the error message you're receiving, I believe the following help topic will be of help: https://kb.devolutions.net/rdm_ssh_algorithm_support.html
Make sure to enable all algorithms under all sections(Cipher, Host Key, Kex, Mac).
Best regards,
Samuel Dery
Thanks heaps :) I'll keep an eye out for the update. Any clue when it may be?
Hello,
the next minor update is planned for early next week (Monday or Tuesday).

Thanks David :) I'll keep an eye out for it.
I had the same issue with a new SSH connection where I was asked whether to accept the hosts certificate. When hovering over the RDM icon in the task bar, I can see the dialog but there is nothing I can do to make it visible.
In the end, I simply proceeded as if the dialog was on top and used my keys to navigate to the right button (i.e. using Tab) and then pressed enter. That worked.
But it's a nuisance nonetheless, hoping for a quick resolution.
Support just redirected me here for a similar issue (DEVO-31638). RDP disconnection notifications were popping up on other windows or behind the main window, leading me to kill the process because the main window did not appear to be responding. Hopefully that will be fixed by this coming update too.
I just downloaded the new update and the issue is not fixed. The alert window is still popping up behind the main window.
Hello,
@ralph: Maybe it was an error from support, but the issue should be fixed for SSH Shell, Telnet, SSH Tunnel and Portforward entries. We weren't aware that this occured for RDP. I've opened a ticket to investigate.
@dd3fd4: Do you mean for SSH the issue isn't fixed for you, or do you mean for RDP as mentioned by Ralph?

Hubert Mireault

My SSH issue.
@dd3fd4: Thanks for the precision. We'll reopen the case and see if we can reproduce. We were able to reproduce at first but not after the fix included in 2021.1.22.0, so it's possible we missed something.

Hello,
We managed to identify a few things that could be causing this issue, and made changes. These changes will be available in RDM 2021.1.23.0 which we will release soon.
Let me know if it works for you after that patch. If it doesn't work there's a new toggle that could be changed to help in this scenario that I could point you to.

Hubert Mireault
I just downloaded the latest build. The SSH_FAIL_NO_MATCH is now showing up infront, but the below error message is showing up behind as well.

Hello,
We've been testing and are only able to reproduce this intermittently. From what I can tell, it happens for me the first time when I open RDM, and then it stops happening until I restart RDM. For you, does it occur every time? Is there a series of events you do that results in this happening?
I'm investigating for a solution, any additional information you can provide will be helpful.

Hubert Mireault
Hello,
I think we figured out the cause, could you go in File > Options > User Interface, and uncheck "Use 'always on top' force foreground window method".
If you confirm this works for you unchecking the option, we'll change the default for this option. Unchecking this option will at least allow you to work without this kind of issue as you did in RDM 2020.3.

Hubert Mireault
Thats fixed it for me :) Thanks heaps for your help :)
Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad this works for you!
The default for this option will be changed in RDM 2021.1.25.0, so in case you use RDM on other computers or among a team, you won't need to do this change on every computer starting with that version.
