I really like this feature but since I have started using it I have noticed that when I have set several vaults as favorite they are no longer set when I launch RDM and I have to set them back up again. Its happened several times now.

I'm running version 2024.1.19

Before we get started on this I just wanted to confirm if you were connecting to the data source using the same user?

The favorites should be linked to your user so they will be lost if changing users even if on the same RDM installation.

Yes I am logging on to the data source as the same user each time.
Doesn't seem to lose them all the time as this morning I can see the single favorite I set yesterday after they all vanished is still set.

Hi, it seems like after this change switching between vaults feels not as snappy as before.

In the previous versions I could type part of a Vault name and instantly press enter after typing, now there is a slight delay before I can press enter to switch to the other Vault.

No ground breaking bug, but was wondering if this could be fixed/changed.

Just make sure to update to RDM 2024.1.20, we fixed a general performance issue that could be related.

There is an additional delay because we changed the control that is used to display the vaults.

We now use a more versatile type of control which allow us to handle the favorite vaults. However, that control's filter delay is handled by our input delay in the File -> Settings. The following image shows where to configure this delay in milliseconds.



At the moment, the UI blocks this value at a minimum of 300 milliseconds. We will lower this minimum value in the version 2024.1.21.0 of RDM.

In the meantime, you could change your interval by hand in your configuration file. To do so, you simply have to add or change the "FilterInterval" XML tag to a value of your choice as follows :

<FilterInterval>50</FilterInterval>

Is it possible that you are sometimes in offline mode and that would be when your favorite vaults do not show?

I start offline sometimes as I then load the VPN via RDM.
However, wouldn't the favourites come back once I'm online?

I'll pay closer attention to it when I'm back in the office. I'm on AL for a week so won't get to test.

The vaults indeed come back when online but it seems to only do so when using the refresh button in the combobox



We've created a ticket to add the support of favorite vaults in the offline mode as it was not intended to lose the favorite vaults in offline.
