Hello,
When I attempt to back up my configuration within RDM I am getting a scripting error when attempting to login to my account - this is new as its has worked previously. interesting that the diagnostic details show IE as the browser - no IE installed on this computer.

--> Source: (Application)
Open(/auth/oauth)
Navigating(/auth/oauth)
Navigated(/op/login)

Please advise how to resolve this.
Cheers,

I'm getting this exact problem. It went from previously working, to just a flashing login-screen which prompted a sign-in failure and now to this exact message.
I've tried on multiple computers, domain-joined and not and all are experiencing this behavior. Tried changing the embedded browser-settings in RDM but it didn't help.
Running Win 10 Ent 20H2, build 19042.746

Hello,
Are you both able to login on http://login.devolutions.net/ via Internet Explorer?
What type of datasource are you running?
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
Hi Jeff,
Logon through IE works fine when launching separately for me.
Local Data Source, SQLite.
It's not just trying to use the backup function for me and the script error appeared when I tried registering a new computer on my account during first setup.

Hello,
As of now, the authentication is performed via Internet Explorer and we have encountered some issues like you have recently.
We are working hard to perform the authentication via another method and this should be available soon.
As of now, as a workaround, I would suggest to perform the backup locally instead of online.
To do so, go in File -> DataSources -> Edit -> Backup tab and select File Backup.
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
Hi ,
maybe this will help, i'm pretty sure i worked around this issue because i can reproduce it
i have one windows computer where i get this same issue ( the script error )
and another windows computer which doesn't have the issue ( now i looked at the differences between these 2 systems, they are somewhat identical in specs )
now one thing that jumped out to me is that where the issue rises has Java 8 Update 271(64bit)
and the one where it doesn't have the issue has Java 8 Update 271
i'm assuming thats the 32 bit version.
try to install the 32bit version if that works for you then you know its in the 64 bit version.
like i said, i don't know why or how but it works for me, just sharing the love.
@dutchdouche,
Thank you for your reply, it's really appreciated.
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
Hello
I have the same problem
And i don't see why Java can be concern by the error ?
I need a backup on the cloud and I can't restore it

@ab1,
Are you able to load https://login.devolutions.net from Internet Explorer?
If not, could you try to clear your Internet Explorer cache and see if that help.
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
Hello
I can login on IE, Chrome and Edge
Login.devolution.net is in trusted site
It's the same
Best Regards
Hello,
Since you are able to connect to your Devolutions Account on IE, Edge, and Chrome, I would like to know if you could create a portable version of RDM and see if this issue still occurs. To do so, you will need to do the following:
1- Download the .zip file below:
https://remotedesktopmanager.com/home/thankyou/rdmbin
2- Create a new folder on your Desktop
3- Extract the content of the .zip file into the folder created at #2
4- Go in this folder once the .zip file has been extracted and run remotedesktopmanager64.exe
5- Enter your current serial
If you are using the Free edition of RDM, please download the .zip file below instead:
https://remotedesktopmanager.com/home/thankyou/rdmfreebin
Best regards,

Hi,
Same problem occurs when trying the method above with the portable version. Getting a script error.
//David
Hi, same problem here.
p.s. Is there any possibility to download Online backup as .rdm to import it locally?
//Michael
Hello,
Thank you David for performing that test.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to download the Online Backup directly from your Devolutions account using your web browser. Until a solution is found for this issue, we recommend using the "Local Backup" instead. If needed, the location of the backup can be mapped to a network drive to allow you to achieve something similar.
To do so, go in File -> DataSources -> Edit -> Backup tab and select File Backup.
Unless I am mistaken, you are trying to use the "Online Backup" feature but you currently have access to your entries, correct?
Best regards,
James Lafleur
Hello,
i have clean installation of my Windows, without exported .rdm before reinstallation.
So i wonder if there is way to download backup from your website via browser (i couldn't find download button only remove :) ).
My workaround:
I install RDM on different computer, restore backup then export .rdm and on my main computer import .rdm i get.
//Michael
Hello Michael,
I understand, sadly it cannot be downloaded directly from the web. That being said, I am glad to see that you have been able to find a workaround until this issue is resolved.
Best regards,
James Lafleur
I spent forever trying to troubleshoot this, and even after changing all of my security options, login was still broken in both RDM and IE11. After unchecking "Display intranet sites in Compatibilty View" login now works.

This also works for me thank you I'm lost without RDM.
Hello Carter,
Thank you for adding this solution to our thread. I am glad to see that this works for you and @Berno82.

Hello
I still have the script error. The "Display intranet sites in Compatibilty View" is not checked for me

Hi again,
I did quite the workaround the other day. I installed a clean virtual W10 machine with 1909 and the script errors were gone. I logged in, exported all necessary settings and moved them over to the new computer running 20H2 and then imported all settings and now at least I can access all credentials and saved sessions. However the Online Backup function now instead gives a "Unable to login. Please verify your internet conenction.".
Kind regards, David
My windows is running version 20H2 too

@ab1 and icompdavid,
What type of datasource are you running?
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
@Jeff Dagenais,
Running local data source, SQLite.

Hello,
Our engineering department is currently working on a new authentication method to avoid this type of issue with Internet Explorer.
The development is going well and we hope to have something in production in a few weeks if the QA part goes well.
When this new authentication method will be available, we will post it here
That being said, as of now, for the online backup not working using a SQLite datasource, the workaround would be to use a local backup instead.
To do so, go in File -> DataSources -> Edit -> Backup tab and select File Backup instead. This will create the backup files locally for now.
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
I also had this issue for a while.
Like others, I finally found that the issue was also because of compatibility mode being applied to the Devoluutions login page in Internet Explorer options.
We use a proxy, but we don't proxy ALL web traffic. Under Internet Properties > Local Intranet > Sites, I had to make sure that "Automatically detect intranet network" was not checked so I could then uncheck the option "Include all sites that bypass the proxy server."
If you have Group Policy, these settings can easily be managed at a central location for all users.
Hi
I don't use a proxy. Devolution.com is in "Trusted site" and it isn't in the compatibilty list

@ab1,
You get the script error when exactly?
Which cloud feature are you trying to use inside RDM?
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
Hi
As soon as I want to log to my devolution account : Startup of the software or files\devolution account
best regards
@ab1,
Are you running the free or the enterprise edition?
If you are running the free edition and that you are using the cloud to register, I would recommend entering the license key manually instead as explain here
https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/registration_freeedition.html
Regarding File -> Account, which feature would you like to use?
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
I m running the Free edition and I have already enter the key.
But the backup in the cloud feature doesn't works and i wish to use it
Best regards
@ab1,
As you know, the authentication is performed via Internet Explorer and this explain why some of you encounter connection issues like you have.
Our engineering department has worked on a new way to perform the authentication and this should be available very soon.

As a new RDM Free user, I was unable to register the software at first due to this issue. After considerable fiddling I got it to work.
I could sign into https://account.devolutions.com/ via regular IE, but the page after sign-in was blank. There was a 'method unsupported' error in the dev console. I tweaked the IE LAN and Intranet settings as described by a couple users. No change. This didn't remove the RDM embedded IE page script error (the one reported by OP), so I right clicked the embedded page, went to properties, copied the URL that included a "authn_code" parameter, and then accessed that URL from another browser and authenticated there.
I also created a Devolutions application password and used it in RDM with the "Automatically sign-in at startup option. I restarted RDM and it signed in automatically. I removed the application password setting and restarted RDM. This time, the embedded IE page came up without the script error and I was able to sign in again and now it signs in automatically each time.
I'm not sure which of these changes actually had the desired effect. I'm glad the devs are working on an alternate authentication method. If I had not used this software before and understood its value, I probably would not have made this much effort to overcome this problem. This is the sort of OOB issue that would usually make me abandon testing new software right away.

Hello @shem
Thank you for your share in this post and your patience with our issue. Yes the devs are working hard on this, and I understand you made it work.
That being said, and if you are willing, a beta for RDM free version was posted on the forum that now works with the native feature browser instead of IE for the login/registration.
Thank you again and have a nice day.
Best regards,
Christine Breault

Hi
I can log with the beta version but i don't see the backup option

Hello,
Since you are using a SQLite Data Source, you would need to go under File -> Data Sources -> Edit (pen icon) -> Backup and use the ellipsis button to configure your "Online backup":
For more information, please consult this link: https://helpcloud.devolutions.net/onlinebackup_introduction.html

It's Works
Thanks

Hello,
In the past, you have encountered an issue with the authentication on our cloud portal via RDM because of errors with our Internet Explorer implementation. This is now resolved in RDM 2021.x, since the authentication method is now completely changed. You can download the proper version (free or enterprise) here https://remotedesktopmanager.com/home/download . Please note that if you are running an advanced datasource, a database upgrade is required - https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/database_upgrade.html
If you we're using the Online backup with Devolutions and that you had switch to a local backup as a workaround, you can reactivate the Online backup by going in File – Data sources – Edit – Backup tab and select Online backup.
Best regards,
Jeff Dagenais
