Any ideas on where to look to try and get things running?

Hello all people,
I installed RDM Free to try out with WebDAV to look at. I have webdav working on an IIS7 server, and RDM is able to create the xml file on the server. If i specify a master key in the datasource configuration. I get an error that "saved data source master key is invalid, please verify your settings" The file did not exist before connecting. When i connected the file is created and there is plain text in it. Once i add a session it gives me that error on save, and when i look at the file it is encrypted.
If i delete the file and remove the master key from the data store config, it creates a plain text file, and when i go to add a session, it prompts me for the master key.
Is there some different way i should be going about starting this up? I had succusfully used a local file and moved that file up to the webdav server and it would not let me use the known working master key
This happens on both Mac 2019.1.7.0 and Windows 2019.1.41.0
Any ideas on where to look to try and get things running?
Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Well, you must have hit a bug. Whats strange of your description is that it doesnt work at all, we should have had other bug reports if that was the case and we've had 10 beta builds since the RDM version you use... Maybe you're running into an edge case.

We will ask a team member to try and reproduce your issue. Monday is a holiday for us, I hope we can provide feedback by the end of tuesday.

Best regards,

Maurice

I personally would advice against using WebDAV.
Other datasources are probably more stable and easier to set up.

If it's just for yourself, I would store the XML or preferably the Sqlite locally, which can be in a folder that get's synced outside of RDM like Dropbox, Onedrive of Google Drive.

Personally I have never gotten WebDAV to work without running into issues.

Hello,

I've connected to a newly created schema for webdav and had no issue. Although when I had a bad port or hostname and trying to create a new file, I did have the same behavior as you did.

With the webdav datasource It is really hard to know what is causing these failure to connect. A good way to test it is through is by creating the Webdav File Explorer entry in a local datasource prior to use it as a datasource as you do not have to wait for the timeout everytime you try to connect to see if the setup is working properly.
