When using the new windows clipboard history feature the copy username and password function of RdM does not behave well. Both entries are copies directly into the clipboard history. Note that the same thing occurs when you use other clipboard managers (for example ClipClip).

Since this is a regular windows feature it would be nice if both just would work .

Note that keepass had an option to "Do not store data in the Windows clipboard history and the cloud clipboard."
(maybe this helps in the lookout for a solution).

We will investigate what is possible. I have a pretty good idea what is going on. May need to bypass the clipboard history.

The issues has been logged, thank you for the feedback.

The issue has been resolved internally and should be available in the next (or next-next) beta release, I just missed the cutoff :-(

Hey Stefane,

I noticed there was a update of the Beta version today with something about this in the release notes

For me this is not working as should be:

Remarks:

To be positive ; it is definitely working a bit more then in the past :D

Thank you for the update. We are able to reproduce this behavior on a machine here so I should be able to figure it out.

if you want "copy username" & "copy password" to be safe from the clipboard history you must change a system option. File > Options > General (tab) > Clipboard copy method > select "Paste once (secure)"

You can test it but I think the bug from the "copy username & password" will make it such that nothing gets pasted...

Has this "copy username & password" bug been fixed? I have updated RDM to the latest beta release 2019.2.15.0 but it is still not working? This is on Win10 v 1809.

Fixed in v2019.2.16.0 (not listed in release notes but it is in there).

Note 1: v2019.2.16.0 has yet to be pushed via "check for updates" so you will need to download manually.
Note 2: There is an known issue with Chrome see here: https://forum.devolutions.net/topic32790-problem-with-copy-username-and-password.aspx

Hi, I don't know if this is a bug or a error that sticked in the release but when using the GUI to copy the password into clipboard, it will remain in the clipboard history.

I noticed that the option to copy both username and password will not copy it into the clipboard history but the option to copy only the password will keep the history.

As it seem to be fixed but your last post, I think it would be a good idea to tell you that in release v2019.2.18.0 the password still remain visible when using Windows+V.

Make sure the "Clipboard copy method" in File > Options > General is set to "Past Once (secure)"

If not, you are correct, the clipboard history will see your username/password.
