I am having an issue with the RDM (free version) screen loosing focus on Windows 10 Professional. This has only started happening since the latest update of RDM to version 2019.1.4.0. Here is my scenario - I log into a remote Windows Server using RDM and then go away and work on something else for a while. I want to come back to RDM after about 30 minutes and I cannot get focus to the window. Using Alt-Tab, I can see my RDM window but it is not available to be able to be selected. I have to go into Task Manager and end the process and then restart it to be able to continue.
Anyone else having this issue or know of a possible solution?
I didn't realize I was so far behind on versions. I have updated to 2019.1.7.0 and it appears as though the issue has been resolved so at the moment, I will keep an eye on it.

Hi,
i've got the same Issue.
But i'm using the Enterprise Edition. I'm using the latest Version.
My Issue exists since Upgrade from 14.1.3 to 2019.1.18 and the actual version.
If i'm not using RDM for a longer time it hangs. The latest session that i'm connected to is usable. But the hole RDM doesn't reacting to anything else. Only kill with Taskmanager and restart helped.
I deleted the appdata files but this doesn't changed anything.

Martin
Unfortunately, it happened again this morning on 2019.1.7.0 Free version. I had two windows RDP sessions open to two different servers, and was working on something else. Wanted to come back to RDM and while I could see the screen when I hovered over the icon and could see it in ALT-TAB, I could not get focus to the application and had to End Task it through Task Manager.

Hello,
Would it be possible for you to consult your Event Viewer and see if you have any entry related to these issues? If so, could you please send them to ticket@devolutions.net ? We will then be able to see what can be done on that matter.

Hi,
of course.
I've send you the Eventlog from the last Hour.

Martin
Email has been sent with Event Log entries.
FYI I have seen this on multiple occasions, with different applications and believe this may be more a Windows issue than a RDM issue.
Hello,
Thank you for these logs. Unfortunately, the "Faulting Module" seems to be missing. That being said, usually we can track down the cause of this issue to "Faulting module name: Windows.UI.XamlHost.dll". Unfortunately, in these cases, these crashes are caused by a .NET issue which is not related to RDM.
This issue as been reported on another thread of our forum as well: https://forum.devolutions.net/topic30992-faulting-module-path-cwindowssystemwindowsuixamlhostdll.aspx
For more information on that matter, we usually redirect our clients to this section from Microsoft Support: https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/content/problem/352484/buffer-overflow-within-windowsuixamlhostdll-when-p.html
Also, we had many reports similar to the comment of @rolflobker supporting this root cause.
