Devolutions Web Login does not fill password field in Dell iDRAC version 3.30.30.30

Devolutions Web Login does not fill password field in Dell iDRAC version 3.30.30.30

Since Dell iDRAC version 3.30.30.30 the Devolutions Web Login Extension does not fill the password field. In the former version 3.21.26.22 it worked without problems.

Hello,

Would it be possible for you to provide us an URL to test this behavior in our environment?

Also, are you storing your credentials in RDM? If so, which version of the application are you currently using?

Hello James,

sorry but I can't give you access to our server infrastructure. Maybe you have yourself a Dell server of the latest generation (14th), like Dell R640.

And yes, I use RDM (14.1.3.0) and store the credentials in a credential repository.

Best regards,

Tom

Hello,

I understand. I will see if we have access to a test environment which would allow me to test this.
I will contact you as soon as I will have an update on that matter.

Hello,

Could you please try to use the Devolutions Web Login extension to manually create a new credential entry for your server and see if this issue still occurs? You can do so by clicking on the DWL icon and then pressing on the "+" sign.

That was my first thought but unfortunately it doesn't work either.

Hello,

Unfortunately, I just had the confirmation that we do not have access to a test environment recent enough to troubleshoot this issue on our end.
I will contact our engineering department on that matter and see if there is anything we can do about this.

Hi James, I can offer you to make a Remote-Session - if you want?

avatar

Hello,

Thank you for offering a Remote Session. Sadly, we would need to have direct access in order for our engineering department to be able to troubleshoot the cause of this issue. During a remote session, we won't be able to run/use our debug tools.

That being said, I would continue my investigation and get back to you.

Best regards,

Hello,

I just had a chat with our engineering department and they would be interested in a remote session with you. Would it be possible for you to write an email to ticket@devolutions.net in order to schedule a session at your convenience?

Best regards,

Hello,

Thank you for your time today. The recording of our session has been transferred to our engineering department in order to see if there is anything that can be done on that matter.

@everyone this issue will occur with the more recent versions of Dell Idrac and it is caused by the fact that they added the "auto-complete readonly= "true" element on their website. This new element prevent us from being able to inject password in their website.

I just saw this and wanted to add that I am creating a session to connect to a Dell PowerEdge R840 server iDRAC and I have the username and password being filled in, but it doesn't log in automatically. I have to press the Enter key to get it to go through. I tried both [SUBMIT] and [ENTER] but neither works. I would be willing to work with someone to get this to work if possible.

Are you using iDRAC in external mode with Devolutions Web Login, or embedded in RDM?

Same inside RDM with a standard web entry: https://forum.devolutions.net/topics/33610/idrac-interface-autofill-doesnt-work-on-idrac-9

Autofill for "username" and "password" fields works but not the auto-submit.

I would be willing to allow some developers to access for testing. Let me know how I can help

Hello,

Thank you for offering us the opportunity to perform our tests on your end. Just make sure that the environment in question does not contain any sensitive data.

As for planning the tests themselves, would it be possible for you to contact us at service@devolutions.net and mention this forum thread? Doing so will create a case in our system automatically and we will be able to move forward with the next steps. It will also allow us to find your request quickly.

Best regards,

James Lafleur
