RMDFree Windows is unable to restore from minimize

avatar

I've already tried Always on top option is located in File -> Options -> User Interface option. However, once RMDfree is minimize to the task bar, it's unable to restore back to full or allow me to type in the validation code anymore. See the video for the issue. As you can see in the video, as soon as I click on the popup icon, it disappears.

Hi Charlie

this is very likely a windows issue, not an RDMFree issue.
We have it often when a window opens up in a 'hidden' desktop when using single monitor when the application thinks it should be on another monitor.

When the application is selectec from the taskbar, simply press <Alt>-<Space> then from the 'system menu' USING your cursor-down select 'Move'. (Press <Enter> to select it).

Then use your <left> or <right> cursor to move the hidden window into your screen until you're able to grab it with the mouse and drag it where you want it.

Regards, Ben

The "'system menu" shows the 'Move' but it's all deactivated or not active. Everything in the "'system menu" is grayed out accept the 'Close' option. What I'm curious is, if it's a Windows issue, so far it only happens on RDMfree every single time. I guess a work around is, how do I disabled RMDfree from going to hidden or minimize?

mmm in that case I'm afraid it IS an RDMFree issue... lets wait if the developers here have an answer...

Hello,

I was unable to reproduce the issue. However, I'd like you to try something.
Could you please go to your file explorer, access %localappdata% -> Devolutions -> RemoteDesktopManagerFree and delete every file with the .lyt extension? It might fix the issue.

Also, as a workaround, if you want to prevent RDM from locking when minimized, you can go to File -> Options -> Security and uncheck "On minimize" in the "Lock application" section.

Best regards
