Hi,

we updated RemoteDesktopManager to version 13.5.6.0 an now having problems using putty.
We use putty in embedded fullscreen mode, and now the last prompt line is cutted half.
Second problem, if we want to add a new session there is no more option to create a new session using putty.

Kind Regards
Steffen

Hello Steffen,

for the second issue - you have to enable the Option "Show Deprecated Entries" to add a Putty SSH session type.

PS: Is there a special reason why you use the Putty SSH session type? I can recommend the native SSH Shell session type - the difference and a short description you can find here and here

Hi,

thanks for the fast reply.
We got many users working with RemoteDesktopManager and putty(standalone) on their desktops, and many of them have their individual font/size/color settings in putty, so this was a nice way for us to give the user the same feeling using RemoteDesktopManager.

Kind Regards
Steffen

Hi Steffen,

We already had this request for SSH Shell entry and I know that it's in our todo list. At the moment each user could modify their font/size/color per user but not per session. That configuration can be find in File -- Options -- Type -- Terminal.

If the issue is with a Putty entry we only take the Putty application and integrate it in RDM so it pretty hard to find what could cause the issue.

Could you test with a SSH Shell which we have more power on it if you have the same issue?

Also, do you remember if it was working properly on a previous version of RDM?

Hi,

with SSH Shell it works.
If i open many connection and they don't fit in one tabbing line he opens a second one, if this happens the last line is written normal.
Last version we used was 13.0.6.0 and there was putty working fine.

Greetings
Steffen

Another information, if i hide the bottom status bar the problem is gone.

I just transfer this to the engineering department, this look like a putty screen integration in RDM.

Thanks for the tests

Hello,

Could you send us a video so we can see how the issue occurs? Unfortunately, since we embed the PuTTY window in RDM, we don't have full control over its behavior, so we might not be able to fix the issue.

There's a tool in the Help tab called Record to assist.

Hello,

Thank you again for the video.

Our engineers have investigated and unfortunately, they told us that there is nothing that can be done.

Sorry about that.

Ok,
we started testing SSH Shell and found a big problem, in Putty our users have the possibility to X-Forward to a specific display which is defined in their Putty settings. While we are using Terminal-Server in our environment every user has his own display. I didn't found any possibility to override the display settings user specific in the settings like the Terminal background.

Hello,

Just to be sure, you would like to have the X11 forwarding section in SSH Shell in the User Specific Settings feature?

Hi,

then you need to define the settings for each configured host, it think it would be better to place it here File -- Options -- Types -- SSH

Hi,

This could be a nice feature request, could you create a new thread on that on the forum https://forum.devolutions.net/forum17-remote-desktop-manager--feature-request.aspx

That being said, at the moment you could work with the Batch Edit and the Custom Powershell.

If you need help to create a Custom Powershell, please provide us the value that you need in the X11 fields and we help you.

Best regards,
