Hi Devolutions-Supportteam

We have upgraded to version 12.6.8.0 (64Bit) version and are suffering of a possible bug in the user specific settings.

Situation:
-Users want/need to change their user specific credential
-the credential entry can be edited and saved normally (without any error)
-after opening the user specific credential shows just Embedded
=>Credential value is not saved
The credential work is the user did not try to adjust it.

Best regards,
APOPS

Hello,

What type of data source are you using?

Also, from what version have you upgraded from?

Hello,

Thank you for the details.

Just to confirm, did the upgrade cause the issue or are you actively experiencing this issue in the latest version every time you edit the User Specific Settings?

I am currently testing this internally.

Hi,

This sounds a lot like the issue we reported and is still being investigated.

Check https://forum.devolutions.net/topic28185-user-specific-settings-on-credential-entry-change-from-custom-to-embedded.aspx

Hi Mark,
The issue is new after the upgrade to the latest version. The issue was reproduced to 3 diffrent users (same credential but edited user specific).
If you need more information please get in touch with us.

Hello,

Just to be sure, The user specific settings were set to custom and only the password field was used, username field was blank right ?

Although my password is still in the field when I click on the embedded blue underlined text.

Hi Alexandre

Actually we had just a credential, which each user edited like this:
Edit => Edit Entry (User Specific Settings)
Than: Override credentials (Checked)
in the General Tab (the only available) each user inserted his username, domain and password

Do you mean this by "custom" ?

Hi again AP_ops,

Yes this is what I meant, this situation is normal as we added a couple new features for the user specific settings like *My Personal Credentials* *Private Vault credentials entry* and *Embedded*. The code was already considered as if it was *embeded* back then and not as custom since it was the only option available.

The password value should still be saved in if you click on the blue underlined text.

is it the case ?

Alexandre Roy

Hi Alexandre,

Unfortunately the updated values are completely empty when the user opens again his "user specific settings"...
I can also offer to show you the behavior in a remote session..

Hello,

Could you make a small video instead?

That would be very apreciated :).

Hi Alexandre

Sorry for the long answer time. The issue is still present and I reproduced it now as well on my side.
Unfortunately a video is not possible as we are not allowed to share the content of applications like this with everybody.

I reproduced it now at my desk as well so I can easily show the issue to you directly.
When I restart the application the saved values are still present but are not working anymore in the sessions...

To solve this with a higher prio - shall I create a ticket instead?

AP-OPS

Honestly ticket or forum for us it's the same. Could you try to create a fake database with some sample data to reproduce the problem?

Hi David
Actually I'm not aware how i could fake this setup without much effort. Is there no way for a short remote session where id could show it you and you could capture some logs of the application?

Hello,

Prior to do a remote session, please go in File -> Data Sources -> Edit -> Upgrade tab and press the Send Schema to Support.

This will send the database schema to our support mailbox. After analysis, we will send you an email to schedule a remote session with you.
