Hi,
I am trying to setup Jump host for the first time. I have started the RDM Agent on the Jump host, and done the rest of the instructions on the help page (https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/#_ga=2.251052931.420612692.1507661425-1234866233.1496126800), but it does not seem to work.
If I connect to the server to be 'jumped' my local RDM tries to connect to it directly. Also if I look at the context menu the Open via Jump is grayed out.
What can this be?
Cheers!

Hello,
Does RDM is installed on the jump host? The entire program needs to be installed, not just the agent.
For more information on RDM Jump, please consult https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/overview_whatisrdmjump.htm

To be honested, we use the portable version on those hosts, since we have 8 of those servers where RDM is used and updating them remotely is easier if they are portable. But you think that when I actually install RDM on this server it should work like I tried?
Cheers!

Hello,
Either the agent or RDM must auto-start when you establish a RDP session to that jump host, its what will eventually open a RDP channel to receive commands remotely.
In RDM (even installed in the portable fashion) simply go in Tools - RDM Agent to launch it. It should configure itself correctly. To confirn, right-click on the Agent icon in the notification area and confirm that Auto-Start is checked.

What if that is done and when clicking on a RDP session that is configured to use another session as Jump host, it just connects directly?
How can I troubleshoot? Moreover, what is supposed to happen?
Cheers!

Hello,
When you launch a session that is configured to use a jump host, RDM will open the jump host session, then, inside this RDP session, a second RDM will open and from that second RDM, a second RDP session will be launched.
Here's a video that you can watch to see RDM Jump in action

Hi Jeff,
And how to troubleshoot? I am doing exactly as shown in the video. It just connects directly to the host, or at least tries. But I need the jump host to connect to it.
Cheers!
