Since the last keepass plugin version, RDM doesn't open the keepass file. If keepass is running, it works fine, but if it's not running, not. I am using several keepass databases. I tried to set keepass not to open the last used file and doesn't open any database if RDM starts the keepass application.
Even it waits forever, I have to kill RDM manually using the task manager.
Hi,
Have you try to update it again. André did an update recently to fix that.
David Hervieux
I had upgraded to RDM 8.2.2.0, latest keepass, reinstalled the plugin and still the same.
Plese be more specific, what do I need to update.
I will ask André to verify this. I think you did the right thing

Hi,
Did you set database paths manually for all your Keepass entries ?
Otherwise it would explain this behavior.

André Sanscartier
yes, I am using several different keepass databases which are specified manually.
If you set keepass not to open the last used database, RDM will not open it. This is bug#1 ( this was worked well before ), then RDM will wait forever and it's not possible to cancel, I have to kill RDM. This is bug #2.
If keepass set to open the last database, RDM try to open the keepass db again and you have to enter the password several times and the same keepass db will open multiple times.
Keepass worked well before, but there was a change in RDM and now if you don't open the db in advance in keepass, it simply doesn't work.
I am spending more and more time to debug RDM issues, like a beta tester :(
Hi,
We understand your concern but we are not able to reproduce your issue.
What's the version of Keepass used ?
When you say that it waits forever, isn't there a countdown with a progress bar (and a cancel button) to abort that procedure ?
Regards,
André Sanscartier
I am using keepass 2.22 .
There is a countdown and progress bar with a cancel button, but it's not possible to cancel. The progress bar fills up until 100% and stops there. It reacts to the mouse press, but nothing happens.
André has fixed the issue with keepass in V8.2.4.0(beta)
With "remember and automatically open last used database on startup" DISABLED, it works perfectly now.
Thank you André for the very fast response!
Hello, I was facing this problem too with v8.2.0.0, so I tried the latest beta v8.2.5.0. Good work, this version solves the problem for a big part.
However there is still one (small) annoyance while opening RDP sessions with a KeePass entry linked to it; it tries to open the KeePass database twice. I've set the database path manually.
Edit: it seems that this is the behaviour when the "remember and automatically open last used database on startup" -option in KeePass is enabled, as zomby mentioned. Will there be a fix from your side in order to solve this?

Hi,
André is working on this but it's not simple. KeePass does not provide the information to our plugin. I think he found a workaround. He expect a fix next week.
David Hervieux
What I would recommend is to use latest beta and uncheck the "remember and automatically open last used database on startup" option in Keepass.
My second recommendation is to enable "Enter master key on secure desktop" in Options/Security in Keepass. This way you can be sure that keepass will get the focus during the password entering.
