Microsoft Edge Extension

Hi,

Devolutions Web Login for Edge was released when not all the API needed were available, for that reason the extension is not wrapped in an AppX like Edge is now expecting but in a Zip file where the user loads manually the extension which has as a side-effect to disable it every time that you open Edge and the user needs to reactivate it manually.

We are currently working on a new version of Devolutions Web Login Edge that uses their new APIs that were made available in Windows 10 Creator update.

Checking as the download appears to still be wrapped in ZIP & nothing in Microsoft Store.

The new version hasn't been released yet.

The next version won't be in the Windows Store because submitting a Microsoft Edge extension to the Windows Store is currently a restricted capability.

Like you have seen in our online help https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/devolutionsweblogin_installation_microsoftedge.htm , you need to be in developper mode to get access to the Edge web login. This is because Microsoft doesn't provide the appropriate tools to configured/delivered a proper extension.

That being said, I would suggest using the Chrome or Firefox web login instead of Edge at the moment.

Where can I enter the key? In the options of the plugin I see no input field

Hello,

The key cannot be added manually. When the connection between RDM and the Edge browser extension is lost, you need to press the refresh button to re-establish the connection between the two.

I removed the plugin before, because it does not work. It only indicated a white area.Since I added it again, this message comes.

The development regarding Edge is very limited and it's not the web browser that we recommend using.

We suggest using a web browser like Firefox or Chrome. Using these ones, it should work as expected

Edge or IE are certainly not my favorite web browsers. But it's the default browser on over 1 billion devices!
A software with password manager feature is not a password manager if it does not support the default browser on windows 10 installations. I can live with that, but that's one of the reasons why I have another password manager, although it would make sense to manage everything with RDM.

This is not on our side that the development is limited. Microsoft did a terrible job with Edge and especially with the extension store. They are no longer accepting any submission while they are moving to Chromium in Edge.

Can you get the Extension into the new Edge Chromium extension store? Your extension (Web Login) is the only one I get from Google Chrome Extension store, the rest is in the Edge Chromium store.
