RDM Jump Database config

Hi,

We are planing to user RDM Jump for our customers which are accessed through a GW. By installing the RDM in GW it becomes a Jump host.
But how about the Database config?
We have multiple users and multiple entries for the Jump host. So i have following questions.

- Can a local Database do this?
- If we need a SQL DB what port openings do we require?
- Can the SQL DB run on the jump host itself?

Hi,

First, could I recommend that you take a look at this blog to compare if the SSH Port Forwarding or Jump Server is the best for you. Also, if you use SSH Jump, it's good to know that you do not need any data source configured on the jump server. All the information are send from RDM on you local computer to the remote server.

Also, could I recommend to not put your personnal information on a forum, who know which google bots will find it and what he will do with it ... ouff

Hi David,

Thank you for the reply.
We prefer the RDM Jump over SSH PF. We can not connect to the original database. I have following questions.

- Can a local Database do this?
- Can the SQL DB run on the jump host itself?

Hello,

Yes, it's possible to use the Jump feature with a local database.

The Jump host can be any computer that you want and that you can establish a RDP channel on it.

For more information on RDM Jump, please consult https://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/overview_whatisrdmjump.htm
At the bottom of this article, there's a video that you can watch as well.
