Some problems with VPN Connection

Some problems with VPN Connection

Hello, I have 3 issues about VPN Connection on RDM.

I use RDM like this : 1 folder per client. VPN is configured on the folder. Different connections inside the folder with Inherited option in VPN tab.
My options are : "Open : Prompt if unable to ping/scan with an IP to ping specified", "Close : Confirm disconnect", "Type : SonicWall VPN (in most of my clients), and authentication settings in the settings tab.

Issue 1 :
The IP test doesn't work every time. So on some clients, it always ask me if I want to mount the VPN even if it's already mounted. The IP I entered is pingable. I tried another IP addresses and even to specify a port to scan, but it still not working. Is your test to short ? And so it can't work on low latency connection for exemple ?

Issue 2 :
The previous issue creates another one. If I open a second tab from the same folder and the IP test doesn't work, I say "No I don't want to open the VPN connection". So, when I close this tab, it doesn't ask me to close the VPN connection, and I understand that's normal but I want it to ask me. Is it possible to link the VPN connection status to the folder. If so, even if the test IP doesn't work, when I close a tab from a specific folder, RDM will ask me if I want to close the VPN (but It should do it only if a VPN is configured on the folder, and only if I'm closing the last tab of this folder)

Issue 3 :
Is it possible to add quick button to open and close VPN on the dashboard of a folder ? These button already exists but only when you select a session connection not on a folder. I think it could be really useful. By the way, the close button on dashboard of session doesn't work (at least on SonicWall VPN). Just this button doesn't work, because I got no problem when it prompt me to close the vpn or when I click on the close button in the VPN properties.

I hope this is clear enough. Ask me if not :)

Best regards

Hello Rudy

First, I'd like to suggest to not mix feature requests with Bug reports, it's best to post them in the forum that is dedicated to that.
You can find it here https://forum.devolutions.net/forum17-remote-desktop-manager--feature-request.aspx .
We are not asking this to be difficult, it's simply that there are 2 people authorized to respond to feature requests topics, whereas the full team handles support cases. When a feature request is mixed in, it is put on hold.

ISSUE 1 : I will assign this to someone to see if we can change the timeout in the existing application.

ISSUE 2 : Have you set a VPN Group in the vpn settings at the folder level? it is strongly recommended when you inherit vpn settings. I simply type in the folder name to ensure uniqueness.

Best regards,

Maurice

Hello,

thank's for the link I will post my suggestion there. But the second part of my 3rd issue is a bug :
"By the way, the close button on dashboard of session doesn't work (at least on SonicWall VPN). Just this button doesn't work, because I got no problem when it prompt me to close the vpn or when I click on the close button in the VPN properties."

About the others :

ISSUE 1 : thank you for your help.

ISSUE 2 : Ok I tried this but it doesn't change anything.
