JNLP launched from login

avatar

Hi .. I'm not 'new' as per se to Remote Desktop Manager, but I am new to some of the other stuff you can do with it outside of simple RDP.

I have one thing I login to (Lantronix Spider KVM) where the login page spawns a Java (.jnlp) file.
This (after a bunch of confirmations Java throws up) is a pop-out window where the "Remote Console" actually is.

The path to the .jnlp is different each time (a request of sorts), so I can't seem to get the "Java Web Start" plug-in to see it.

How can I make RDManager take the spawned .jnlp into a new embedded window ? (As I can figure out the Chrome login part).

I like that RDManager is a centralised window, and I don't want any 'spawned' stuff all over the place.

Thx.

Hi,
Could you link the file extension in Windows to Java web start so it can find it automatically?

Hi .. The file association is Java Web Start in Windows, and I've even made sure that Chrome auto starts jnlp files.

However, when the chrome is embedded in RDManager, it brings up a Save location dialog when the webpage spawns the jnlp.

I see what you mean. I will make assign this to Olivier.

Hi Ivan,

In the next version a popup message in Embedded Chrome will ask you what to do with the file (Execute, Save or Save As). You will choose Execute and it will open with the default application you chose in Windows in your case Chrome. Unfortunately, it's not possible to open the .jnlp in another embedded window in RDM.

Best regards,

In addition to that: Would it be possible to set an option to automatically execute the JLNP file instead of displaying the "Execute, Save or Save As" dialog?

Hi,
I don't know if it's possible to do it with the third party but we will do it if it is.
