Hi,
We use RDM for a couple of years now and ever since we use it and open an embedded Citrix session it often takes a while to be able to enter the credentials. For some reason RDM freezes a couple of seconds. Sometimes it completely stays frozen and you need to kill the process.
This happens to sessions with Windows 2003 with Citrix Presentation 4.5 but also Windows 2008R2 with XenApp 6.5.
What could this be?
Cheers!

Hi #Sjoerd
That could be a lot of reasons. But maybe you could help by posting logs.
1a. What version of RDM are you using?
1b. What version of Windows are you running RDM on?
2. Change debug level: Commands > File > Options > Advanced
3. Clear all logs.
4. Reproduce wait/RDM freeze(open embedded Citrix session).
5. Copy log (http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/help_applicationlogs.htm?zoom_highlightsub=debug%2Blog)
6. Post log :)
I bet that the RDM team will ask for the same info, to be able to analyse your specific issue.
Please do correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi,
This will be useful. Which RDM version do you use?
David Hervieux
Hi, see answers below:
1a. What version of RDM are you using?
10.0.4.0
1b. What version of Windows are you running RDM on?
Windows 8.1 (but also happens on W7)
2. Change debug level: Commands > File > Options > Advanced
3. Clear all logs.
4. Reproduce wait/RDM freeze(open embedded Citrix session).
5. Copy log (http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/help_applicationlogs.htm?zoom_highlightsub=debug%2Blog)
6. Post log smile
I have set all the debug checks but they don't tell anything about me trying to open a Citrix session

I'm using the current Citrix Receiver (4.1.200.13), but since this happens since I started using RDM I think multiple versions of Citrix Receiver in the past years are passed without improvement.
The fact that all my colleagues have this problem, having different versions of RDM and Citrix client, seems to me that this is a common problem that people probably asked before. Isn't this the case?
Cheers!

Could you try RDM beta? We fixed an issue with SQLite and Citrix
David Hervieux
Nope... just installed the 10.0.19.0 and still has the same issue...
Do you guys have a Citrix server to test with? Otherwise, could you send me the code just for the api to embed the Citrix client inside an application so I can fiddle on this end with my Citrix servers.
Cheers!
Sjoerd
Could you try RDM 32 bit and 64 bit?
David Hervieux
OK David, this answers my question if you guys have a Citrix server to test with...
The ICA session is only 32-bit, so 64-bit RDM does not really help.
Cheers!
Sjoerd
Any clues?
Cheers!
Sjoerd
Just for a test could you try an old version of RDM to see if it's related to Citrix or RDM?
David Hervieux
David,
this is happening from the moment we started with RDM... version 5 or 6 I think.
Could you give me some example code or a test c# program to test with Citrix Receiver? Maybe I can figure out what this is when I debug myself using our Citrix servers?
Cheers!
Sjoerd
Hi,
We use the Citrix ActiveX:
http://blogs.citrix.com/2010/03/02/fun-with-the-ica-client-object-ico-and-net-console-applications/
You could try Terminals the open source. I know that they use he same ActiveX as well.
David Hervieux
David,
Just spend 5 minutes with the ICA object and can simulate with a very small C# app.
It's related to Citrix. Either the activeX is causing it or the Citrix server, but I have this issue with different version.
Anyway, RDM is not causing it, so I will leave you guys alone...
Thanks for assisting!
Cheers!
Sjoerd
I'm really sorry to not be more useful. Let me know if you find anything.
