Dropbox sessions is empty

avatar

Hello,

My Dropbox data source worked yesterday, but today I don't get any sessions so i tried to remove the source and added it again but still nog showing any sessions.

I have tried with all different kinds of options on the data source, nothing seams to work.
I can't use "Manual authentication" if i mark that option it just unmarks after i press "OK".

This is some info from the performance log

I too have lost my dropbox connections - I tried deleting one - readding and when I click validate dropbox account it fails.

We have assigned this to André. He is currently investigating.

thank you

Thanks.

Yep same problem, can't open dropbox connections. If I copy the file locally and create a new connection to the same file it opens fine.

appears to have solved it for me

avatar

That fixed it for me.

avatar

Thank you guys for your patience. I will release the build officially.

Tried at home and seems to work good, just had to validate my Dropbox account again, then it worked, should try at the office tommorow, but think it should work there too then. =) Thanks.

avatar

is the issue back for anyone else this morning?I haven't confirmed yet for multiple users however one employee that uses the program says that the issue has returned this morning

avatar

For me it does not work yet

avatar

Works good here, have you guys tried with that new build? =)

avatar

now it works:
1.) new dropbbox connection
2.) Import the old connection

:)

Hi,
For security reasons, the Dropbox API has been modified to disable SSLv3 on Monday, November 17th.
Since then, only TLS connections are supported.
Previously our connection was SSLv3 by default and this explains why we are issuing a hotfix.

If an environment doesn't allow TLS connections, you will not able to connect to your data source. You must investigate if you network infrastructure does allow TLS traffic.
Best regards,

André Sanscartier

So what if I'm in an unfortunate loop. Before finding this thread I tried some "creative ways" to create a dropbox session and now what happens is as soon as I launch I get a "Loading sessions form datasource dropbox" .... and it sits there indefinitely. I can't get in to try anything else.

Is there a regkey I can delete somewhere to clear this up?

avatar

Hi,
You could rename the file remotedesktopmanager.cfg located in%LocalAppData%\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager

Ahh you are a gentleman and a scholar!

Thanks for that. As an aside, I upgraded to the latest beta and still can't get int via dropbox but I can always install the dropbox app and just open the xml directly that way. SO i have my workaround. Let me know if you'd like any logs.

I will ask André on Monday to contact you for the logs.

Hi,

I have been trying to get this problem sorted for a few days now with no luck. I originally had dropbox setup with two step authentication and all was working fine. both through my company lan (with and without a proxy) and using Wifi at home and the company wifi hotspot.

I have updated to the version in one of the previous messages (v14) with no luck.
I have turned off step authentication on drop box no luck
I have specified new connections, cleared the cache, tried all the different connection settings with no luck.

I see one of the messages state that you now only allow TLS but considering all the methods i have used to connect to dropbox this cannot be the sole reason for the loss of connectivity to dropbox.

Everyone else seems to have rectified the issue, so i am wondering if i am doing something different?

All that happens is remotedesktopmanager (64 and 32 bit) seems to hang when i switch to a dropbox datasource, all i can do is end the program through task manager. How can i tell what is the problem and how to fix

Thanks

Will this / is this fixed for us running version 9.2.10.0?

My Dropbox Sessions are empty. When i try to connect create a new one nothing happens when i try to push the validate button.

avatar

@ChrisLatta

Have you tried to create a brand new data source? Also try the latest beta just in case (10.0.15.0).

Unfortunately we can't fix it for the version 9.2.

David Hervieux

avatar

So if we are using version 9.2 we cannot use dropbox anymore? :(

avatar

Exactly. We cannot patch the old version. We need .NET 4.0 and it was introduced with RDM 10

David Hervieux

avatar

That is a big problem because that's how we share our RDM i our team :(

avatar

The workaround is to install the DropBox client and convert your DropBox data source to an Xml data source linked to the local synchronized Dropbob folder.

David Hervieux

avatar

How do i convert the the data, and how is it then supported that multiple users use the same XML?

avatar

You could use the built-in DropBox shared feature. Just copy the connections.xml file and you data will be migrated. The other solution is to upgrade at the latest version.
