How to get it running? No luck.
Do you receive an error message? Do you have the AD admin rights to get the access?
David Hervieux
No error. No message. Simply noting.
Domain administrator privileges
Could you check the application log in Help->View Application Logs
David Hervieux

I have this same problem.
When it opens the session type there is a status popup as it collects all the users but when it finishes there are no users and no entries in the application log.
What do you mean by no entries in the application log?
David Hervieux
Do you use the Run As Administrator to execute the application?
David Hervieux
I have tried to "Run as Administrator" to launch the application and no difference. When I say the Application Log I mean on the Help tab "View Application Log" there are no entries after opening the AD Console
Does it work for the computers instead of the users?
David Hervieux
nope cannot get anything to return. when using any of the connection types LDAP/my domain/custom
Have you check in the application log for the silent error?
David Hervieux
the only entries that exist are the ones that the database was upgraded after I installed version 10
Hi Terafirma,
Can you try to connect with a wrong username and password and to a not existing OU. It should return a error, let me know if it's the case.
Can you also try the button "Test connection" with the right credentials and host, I just want to be sure it's not a connection problem.
Regards,
Olivier Désalliers
If I put in a bad OU then I get an error in the application log "There is no such object on the server" or if I click the test connection it says connection failed but if I open the connection it does the same runs then shows a blank window with no error.
If I put in the correct settings and click test connection it comes back successful.
If I put in the wrong username/password I get the same result as the correct username and password. I take it that it is using my windows credentials not the credentials supplied in the connection if I use the "My Domain" type.
If I put in no credentials I get the same result again.
Can you try to put a DN of an user or computer you know exist in the OU DN field.
Can you also try to connect with AD Explorer: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/sysinternals/bb963907.aspx

Olivier Désalliers
Yes if I put a DN of a user then when I open it that user shows up in the list.
If I try to enable/unlock that user I am prompted for credentials.
Yes I can browse AD using other tools (AD explorer and others) no problem.
Are you able to enable/disable/unlock that user when you enter your credentials?
Good to know that if you put directly the DN of an user it shows up in the list. I will work on it and try to find the source of the problem next week.
Sorry for any inconveniences.
Regards,

No if I enter domain admin credentials or my own any actions I take don't get applied. E,g, I disabled an account RDM showed the process happening then went to properties and the account is not disabled so I then confirmed this in AD and it was not disabled.
Hi Terafirma,
There are some changes for the Active Directory Console in the lastest beta (10.0.10.0):
http://forum.devolutions.net/topic17701-remote-desktop-manager--beta.aspx?lastpage=1#post70311#post70311
Enter your admin credentials in the AD Console session. In the OU/Container DN field, can you write only your domain component (DC=...).

Hi,
Has any further progress being made on this as it is still exactly the same for us? While I can get it to function if I set the entry to a single user that is not very useful and I would have to provide Domain Admin credentials to each engineer to type in manually exactly what we use RDM to avoid.
Hi,
I have the same problem, I can get list of computers,Groups and printers but no Users.
Only if I put a single user's DN I get that user.
Is there any progress to this problem?
Hi,
We are still not able to reproduce your problem. In the next version (after 10.1.12.0), a debug will be added for Active Directory to try to pinpoint the problem. To active it, you will need to go to Help -> Profiler, click on the Debug Tab and check "Active Directory" in the debug level form then open your Active Directory Console session and after the loading is done send the trace to the support via the Profiler form.
Thank you for your help.
Best regards,
Olivier Désalliers
