Hello, I am a new RDM user and am loving the application. I am a heavy SecureCRT user and would love to have the ability to open multiple SecureCRT sessions within an embedded window. I can do this if I launch the application externally but not embedded. Is this a bug or a limitation and can it be resolved?
FYI - I am using RDM release 9.4.8.0 with the latest SecureCRT addon installed.
The version of Secure CRT I am running is 7.0.4.
Thanks.
Hi,
I will ask André to verify but I think it's a technical limitation that we have. We embed the connection with a Windows hack and the result is different depending the application.

Hi,
Could you try this new version of the add-on ?
It should work better but like David said we have technical limitations.
I hope that it will be sufficiently stable for your needs.
You just have to replace the old one in %LocalAppData%\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager
You have to save settings at least one time to activate changes.
Best regards,

Hi Andre,
Just before we close this. I just noticed that RDM spawns a new instance of secure CRT for each session and embeds that into RDM. Just checking to see if this behavior can be modified to open a new tab within the existing SecureCRT window as opposed to opening multiple SecureCRT instances? This is how multiple sessions work when choosing open external.

Dokkie
Hi,
The multiple tab behavior is what didn't work with the add-on in embedded mode. I had to open multiple instances to make it work.

Hi Andre,
No problems, I understand. Once again thanks for the quick fix.
On a side note, When defining a Shared SecreCRT session, if I specify the path utilising an environment path variable (eg %LocalAppData%\SecureCRT\Config), the directory and choose session buttons (...) do not look up the environment path variable to be able to choose the sessions from the SecureCRT\Config folder.

Dokkie
Hi,
I added the environment path variables support in the add-on.
Now it should work as expected.
