I have been fighting with this issue for some time, and just not realized that it only happens when I use Remote Desktop Manager... And when I use the embedded window (which I always prefer). On 2003 & 2008 Terminal Servers, I get "The remote computer disconnected the session because of an error in the licensing protocol. Please try connecting to the remote computer again or contact your server administrator."
FINDINGS:
Any idea why this would be happening, and what can be done to make it work properly in embedded mode, without requiring the console option to be enabled?
Thank you!
Hi,
We share the same ActiveX with Remote Desktop Connection Manager. Maybe you could verify if you reproduce the problem?

Thank you... I just installed that and configured a session to one of the same TS servers I have been testing. Using this tool, it worked perfectly, when embedded and not using the console option.
So this must be a configuration setting. I think that by default it Dekstop Background, the theme and the Smart Cards are disabled. Could you try this? We also have an option to Force RDP 6. It's in the application option (Advanced tab page)

I just disabled Desktop background & Themes, from the Experience tab... No help. Smart cards (Local resources tab) was already disabled.
I am not seeing the option to force RDP 6. I should have mentioned that I am on Win7 64-bit and have RDM version 6.6.0.0 (Standard).
Thank you!
Hi,
It's in the printscreen

Ah, from File > Options... OK, I changed that, and unfortunately that did not help either. Just to be sure, I closed and reopened the app after making the change.
One last test could be to click the checkbox Network Level Authentication in the RDP settings (Advanced tab page of the RDP tab control)

Tried "Activate network level authentication (SingleSignOn)", did not help either. :(
The issue seems to be with using the embedded option. Does it do something special? When I uninstalled the product, I checked the registry and could not find much for this program... But when I reinstalled, it knew about all my old sessions and I did not have to re-import them. Maybe if I can uninstall, and completely remove every trace of the program from my PC, it will start working properly again? Can you tell me how to COMPLETELY remove this?
Thank you
Hi,
I'm not sure this will help but remove the folder %LocalAppData%\Devolutions

By the way, have you seen this thread?

I've moved this issue to separate thread - http://forum.devolutions.net/forum/topic2148-some-rdp-embedded-tabbed-connection-doesnt-work.aspx
removing %LocalAppData%\Devolutions (and restart RDM) doesn't help.
Regarding citrix thread - looks like I have different problem (not with licensing). Sorry, I accidentally post my problem in this thread.
