Every time I go to log out of a RDP connection, my RDM freezes and has to be restarted.
To logout I'm going start menu -> logoff. RDM then greys out and I get a not responding message.
What troubleshooting steps should I perform?

RDP does not support logoff by default. We use the Terminal Service API to invoke the logoff, perhaps you could start here:

So just to confirm, from within the RDP session I should NOT be using the OS built-in Logoff button? Because that's how I have been doing it. I have not been using the RDM logoff option.

No it's ok if you use the RDP logoff. I thought you were using the Logoff button from RDM. Could you give a try to the one in RDM?
David Hervieux
I get an "Unable to enumerate remote sessions" error message.
Does it happen on all your server?
David Hervieux
(Sorry, had other things to worry about)
Yes, it happens on all of our servers.
I have updated to 9.1.4.0 and I am still having these issues. I can reproduce it every time by logging off a server (either through RDM or through the remote windows OS).
I am running Windows 8.1
I will try to reproduce, are all the server on the same OS, if so which one?
Thanks

I put a video up showing the freeze. http://youtu.be/kxmZV_WxbZA
I did a little more testing. It seems to happen when I logoff/close the RDP session open in the first position.
I've put up a second video to show you. http://youtu.be/R2ZAzx1Z3ho
Hi
Jean-Francois cannot reproduce the issue. However in both videos you shutdown from the same session, is this always the case?
Just to confirm, this does occur also when you use other means to logoff? Personally I use the command line "shutdown -l"
Maurice
Shutdown -l has the same effect.
By same session, just to confirm, you mean the first RDP session created after starting the software? If so, then yes. It's the first session after software start that causes the freeze and crash.
I had something similar happen to me a couple days ago. I restarted the machine from the menu in windows and after rdm froze.
I have similar problems with SSH sessions too (not using putty, using the built-in rebex ssh.) My session times out from the source and closes and when i clicked back in rdm, it was frozen. I've tried to reproduce this behavior but i can't... just seems to happen every now and then so I tend to avoid ssh within RDM and use putty instead.
Maybe the freezing is related to trying to close one of those ssh tabs just like the rdp? In my cases, the tab is never in the first position, seems random. I just tried again and when i went back, the ssh tabs were closed and RDM was not frozen
Any updates on my freezing issue?
We received last week an email from one our user and the problem was reproducible in mstsc. He was able to fix it by disabling the UPD protocol in the server policy. Could you verify if this also happen with mstsc.exe.
David Hervieux
I am unable to reproduce the error outside of Remote Desktop Manager.
Could you try it in RDCMan? We use the same ActiveX.
David Hervieux
That seems to work with no issues.
This is really strange. Could you import the session from RDCMan in RDM and try it again. Perhaps we have a default setting different and this is causing the issue. You could also give a try to RDM 64 bit and verify your anti-virus. Perhaps it blocks the RDM network call.
David Hervieux
I created a session within RDCMan.
Saved it.
I exported all my saved connections from Remove Desktop Manager, then deleted them.
I imported my saved session into RDM
Same problem.
I tried 64bit, it seems to work. Strange that your installed would default to the 32bit version when running on a 64bit OS....
Hi,
The recommended installation is still 32 bit even when you have a 64 bit version.
http://blog.devolutions.net/2014/02/32-bit-vs-64-bit-versions-of-remote.html
However in specific case like yours, it's good to have the 64 bit version
