Subject: asking for master key when not set

Subject: asking for master key when not set

Hi Team,
Seems that something went wrong with my Remote Desktop Manager. After unclean Windows shutdown (from the power button) it starts to ask me for data source master key which I didn't set. I'm using local XML storage and version 8.3.1.

Now it's impossible to open the XML file? Is there way to fix that? I'm loosing over 200 connections if new datasource must be created and this is very frustrating.

Kind regards,

Hi,
Could you open the Xml file to see if it's encrypted. The master key is used to encrypt the database. Perhaps it was stored in your Windows the first time you've created the Xml data source and you were not asked for that.

Hi David,
Yes, I can open it, but it looks very strange... It's like full with 00 (even if I open it with HEX Editor). Not sure if this means that it's encrypted.

This is really strange. Could you send it to me by email?

Hi,
I have received the file and unfortunately it empty. You were right and it all zeros.

We have a service called Online backup. It is used to automatically backup your xml as you update it.
