Version 0.9.34.0 does not start

Version 0.9.34.0 does not start

avatar

Good morning,

I have just downloaded this version of the Remote Desktop Manager for Mac Beta and it does not start.

When I run from the command line using:

open -n /Applications/Remote Desktop Manager.app

I get the following error:

LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed with error -10810 for the file /Applications/Remote Desktop Manager.app

I had to try and start the app from the command line because nothing happened when I attempted to start it from the Finder.

I am running 10.8.5 Mac OS X.

Please let me know if you need anymore information.

Regards, Russell

Hi Russel,

Two things would help me find what is happening right now.
There is a log file located here ~/Library/Application Support/com.devolutions.remotedesktopmanager/RemoteDesktopManager.log
It might contain an info about what is happening

The second thing is the Console.app
Open it and look for an error prefixed with Remote Desktop Manager in the User Diagnostic Reports.

You can post them or send them to me in a Private Message

Thank you

Hello Benoit,

Thank you for your reply.

I am not able to get any of the items you have requested.

1. The path '~/Application Support/com.devolutions.remotedesktopmanager' does not exist
2. There is nothing that is prefixed with 'Remote Desktop Manager' in 'User Diagnostic Reports'. I only have one entry which is related to an app crash with VLC.

The one message I do get from the system logs is:

com.apple.launchd.peruser.501: ([0x0-0x742742].com.devolutions.remotedesktopmanager[9171]) Exited with code: 1

But i believe that is just the process name and PID and the exit code.

Hi,

Now that you mentioned "com.apple.launchd.peruser.501: ([0x0-0x742742].com.devolutions.remotedesktopmanager[9171]) Exited with code: 1"
You seem to be facing the same problem as other users

You can look at theses forum post :

Hope it helps

Benoit,

Great thanks. The only way I can get this to work on 10.8.5 is to run the command from the command line.

I notice that there is some work being done to get this to work properly with Mountain Lion.

Thanks again for your help,

Russell

Hi

I've released an update that should resolve this.

Since you can't launch the app to auto-update, please download the latest version (0.9.35.0) using your original beta link.

Thanks,

Richard
