Hi RDM for Mac Beta Gurus
Having overcome the issues in getting connected to the Data Source correctly, we have now commenced testing of launching connections from RDM Mac Beta (we are currently using v0.9.33.0).
The following things don't appear to be working, and before we waste too much time gathering evidence and steps to reproduce the issue, etc... for you, I thought that it would be smart to simply ask you if these features have even been written into the Mac version yet. Issues are :
1) When launching a plain (ie - direct) RDP session, it works, but we have to type the password manually. When the same session is launched from the PC version, it logs in for us. Should auto-login work on the Mac Beta version yet?
2) Many of our connections use the feature called "Edit Entry (User Specific Settings)" on the PC. On the Mac, this option is greyed out, and the connections that require it to function don't work. Specifically, I have used this on the CREDENTIALS entry, rather than the CONNECTION entry, in case that makes a difference.
3) RDP via Gateway (using Embedded display). These don't work at all - we just get unable to connect 10002 errors
Thanks
Des
Hi Des,
1) The auto-login feature works for embedded or undocked connection. Right now, we cannot pass credential to MS Remote Desktop but we will be working on a solution.
2) The user specific settings are not implemented yet.
3) The gateway as been improve but there's still place for improvement. Look at this thread for info http://forum.devolutions.net/topic8438-should-ts-gateway-be-functional.aspx
If your situation is not resolved please tell us about it, we will try to resolve the issues
Thank you for your great feedback

Hi,
1) Are you using external mode? Unfortunately we don't have a way to pass credentials to the MS RDP client on Mac (on Windows, we are able to use a workaround with the registry, but obviously this is not possible on OS X). It's something we are working on however I'm not sure if or when we'll have a solution, as the MS RDP client for Mac is completely undocumented.
2) This is not yet implemented. We have a feature request to add this.
3) RDP gateway definitely should work, but FreeRDP doesn't support all the same features as MS RDP. What settings do you have? For instance, you need to manually configure the gateway - automatic detection won't work.
Thanks, Richard

Thanks guys. Respones :
1) I was trying to get auto-login working with MS RDC - obviously no point trying that anymore till you add that feature...
2) This feature is high-priority for us, as we use it quite a bit.
3) As it happens, this was being caused by number 2) above, so once again fixing 2) is getting more urgent for us.
Thanks
Des

Hi,
There seem to be a problem with the mac version of the user specific settings. Don't use them.
I'll be fixing this as soon as I can

Hi Benoit
Good work - as always! I love progress!
In this case, however, as I said at the start of this thread, I do use these User Specific Settings for credential entries, so I'll have to wait till you get that working before I can test. :)
Regards
Des
