Mac Beta Bug - Unable to find MS Remote Desktop

Mac Beta Bug - Unable to find MS Remote Desktop

avatar

Hi Beniot

When we launch an RDP session in RDM Mac Beta, we get the error "Unable to find Microsoft Remote Desktop. Get it from the App" (see screenshot).

I thought that you didn't use the MS RDC Client, but used FreeRDP instead? Also, a locally installed MS RDC Client doesn't seem to fix this error, it appears as though you have to install it from the App store - why should this be necessary?

Thanks
Des

Hi,

Your remote connection is configured to use 'External' mode. You can change it to 'Embedded' or 'Undocked' and it will launch with FreeRDP.

For using external mode, we only support the latest version of the MS RDP client - which is only available via the Mac App Store.

Thanks, Richard
