auto logon / password

avatar

Hi,
I use RDM enterprise 5.9.0 on Windows 7 pro to manage a lot of remote connexions on 2003 and 2008 Windows servers.
I have an issue with the auto logon on servers in the same domain than me. I always have to write again the password, even if this one is stored on the local computer or in the database and embedded or with external display.
I haven't got this issue if I connect on a server in a different domain, auto logon works fine.
Have you got any idea on it ?
Regards

Are you using the Enterprise Edition? If so, try using a Credential Entry/Repository. See if the problem goes away.

Hi,
Have you specified the domain field for your username even if you are in the current domain ?

Hi all,

Thank you for your answers.
I use Enterprise Edition and I tested with credential with the same result; It works with another domains or workgroups but not in the same domain than my computer (without firewall between servers and PC in the current domain).
Of course I tried too to specify the domain name in the field "domain" or "user name" without success.

Hi,
Just to confirm, you tried in external mode and also in embedded mode ?

Hi,
Yes, I tried external and embedded mode (I use RDM since few versions).
I don't understand why it works fine with others domains / workgoups and not in the same domain :-(

It's weird, one last test, can you try to save the password with mstsc.exe and see if the auto login works? If it does not, maybe there is a policy set on your domain to prevent auto logon?

If I save the password in mstsc.exe it doesn't works too. However your point about a policy on this domain is interesting and I'm going to check that (I'm not alone to configure policy on this domain).

Hi,
Thank you very much for your help. someone in our team created a policy for this domain with a parameter "always ask password for login". I was very far to think about this case. Thanks a lot
