Hey,
i defined pcanywhere Remote- Hosts, which i trigger with RDM.
I Use the option "host override" of the pcanywhere Addon.
If i write down a ip- adress, there is no problem.
But if i use an DynDNS- Name, i think the field size is to small and the text will be cut.
In the attached screenshot you can see, i want to connect to an myfritz- Account.
The myfritz- Account- Address ends with .NET - in pcanywhere dialogue the address is shortened and .NET is missing.
I tested also an other adress: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.dyndns.org (character count is the same) - in pcanywhere dialogue the adress is displayed as: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.dyndns.o
The characters "r" and "g" are missing.
best regards

Could you try to invoke pcanywhere from the command line to see if it's a bug on their side or maybe try it with quotes?
awrem32.exe /C xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.dyndns.org
David Hervieux
Hey David,
thank you for your answer.
I used this command: awrem32.exe "TCP_IP.CHF" /Cxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.dyndns.org
In the connection dialogue is the folowwing displayed:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.dyndns.o
Also this command fails: awrem32.exe "TCP_IP.CHF" /C"xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.dyndns.org"
I think its a problem of pcAnywhere and i contact the support.
best regards

Have you tried to quote it?
David Hervieux
Hey David,
yes I tried.
But this also didn't solve the problem.
I created an support case at symantec partner portal and get yesterday some information.
The support technician could reproduce the issue and will now tell the symantec programmers.
He means that it won't be fixed with a hotfix, rather than in a new version.
