navigation does not collapse

avatar

hi!
i have the dashboard disabled and the navigation pane collapsed by default.

when i have no sessions active i see a white space instead of the dashboard.

if i now click on the navigation to make it pop up and then click on the white space to make it collapse .. it does not collapse ...

Could you post a print screen to help me understand the problem?

ok.
this is how RDM looks how i want to deploy it.

if i now click on the "navigation"

it is shown properly but i have not found a way to hide it again.

my first thought was to click on the white background which doesn't do anything.
i think if i deploy it that way people will click on the "x" (which we can not yet hide) and make the navigation disappear.

Now I understand and I remember to have try to implement the click to make it collapse. I also ask that to the third party we use and they don't want to implement it because they mimic the office and Visual Studio behavior. I know it's a bad reason but we haven't found a work around. I promise to try again when they release the new version.

it wouldn't be a problem for me if the other things could be made hideable.

I have another idea, I think that could change the X behavior and collapse the navigation bar

that'd be great!

You need to be in auto-hide mode (unpinned)

ok. works. thanks!

could you please make this the default behaviour for any unpinned info-field?
we would need it for "description".

Hi,
I have added the same behavior the other panels. However it seems that there is a bug when is docked at the bottom. The third party we use does not react correctly. We plan to do an upgrade soon, I will give it a try after the update to see if this is resolved.

The navigation pane does not collapse correctly and it's VERY annoying.

To duplicate:
1) Make sure the navigation pane is in an "undocked" mode.
2) Make sure the dashboard is open to the right of the navigation pane.
3) Now with navigation pane collapsed click it to open it up.
4) Now try to click the "Open External". You cannot do it because the navigation pane is open and does not close.
5) Click a blank space on the dashboard so the navigation pane will close. It doesn't.

This is a great product but this single lacking feature is annoying. Only way I can find to close the navigation pane is to click out to to a "grouped" task bar icon and then click back to the application.

See attached screenshot. Every place there is an arrow if you click the navigation pane does not close.

BTW, running the current version 10.0.4.0.

Hi davejulien,
I'm working on it and it should be fixed in the next version.
