I'm not to Remote Desktop Manager and am finding it a lifesaver, but their is one thing I've not been able to figure out yet that would make it an even more useful tool.
I have an environment with many servers and VMs that require first establishing a VPN connection via Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client. Before Remote Desktop Manager, I would first have to initiate the VPN connection using AnyConnect and then open the various Remote Desktop connection to the servers/VMs.
In Remote Desktop Manager, I've set up a VPN entry for a Cisco AnyConnect VPN client using the macro to enter the credentials. I also have a number of sessions created. I see in the sessions that you can enter VPN information, but is there anyway to just point the sessions to the existing VPN entry so I don't have re-enter the credentials for each of the many sessions?
Besides, on the VPN tab for the session entry, I do not see any way to run a macro to enter the credentials. If I have to enter the password, it would still be more convenient to manually start the VPN from the VPN entry I create and then launch the sessions.
Again, I would like to (1) create a VPN entry and (2) associate it with a number of sessions and have those sessions use the VPN entry if unable to ping the session IP and to ask (confirm disconnect) if I want to disconnect from the VPN after closing the session.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Hi,
In the session VPN tab, you can pick Use existing VPN to reuse a VPN that you have pre-configured. This option is in the VPN list:
