Refresh / Size of popup menus

avatar

Hello, I'm using RDM the whole day - Windows version - and I'm really excited that I will finally be able to use it at home on my mac also. But I guess I'll still have to wait for a few debugs before it's really operational.

I just used it the last hour on a few different servers. I don't have much time to take screen shots and write a full pager, but basically, I see currently two reasons why I'll (temporarily) switch back to CORD :

Shortly some info on my environment. Working on a MacBook pro - a few years old, with the last OSX version. Remote servers are Windows 2008. I'm using an on line repository for RDM.

If this is not clear enough please let me know what could be useful for you. I'll gladly spend some time (perhaps in the evening) to help you make this work.
Tx,
Olivier

Forgot to mention I'm working over a VPN from home.

Hi,

We've had a similar bug report with Windows Server 2008 remote clients.

Are you able to connect to any different remote OS'es? I'm wondering if you see the same behaviour on, say, a Windows 7 or Windows Server 2012 machine.

Thanks, Richard

Hi Richard,

all I managed to find was a Windows XP machine - behaviour was identical, same issue with pop up menus, and with the refresh of content windows.

Thanks,
Olivier

I see my problem is related to another issue about scaling. I'm actually using an existing repository with settings ready for the windows session. I see smart sizing is enabled. I copied one of those sessions and changed the display settings to default, instead of current size, and when I start a session, as long as I don't try to resize the container, rendering and popup menus are fine.
Now my concerns will be to be able to use the existing settings without the need to duplicate all entries for mac - that wouldn't make sense. And I also want to have each opened session using as much window space as possible ...

Hi Olivier

Thanks for the follow up.

I am aware of some issues in our support for smart sizing. I think it will be possible to get the same behaviour on OS X that we have on Windows. It is something we are working on :)

Thanks, Richard

Tx - at least now I can use the product, and I understand no problem that it's still a beta that needs to grow up.
Cheers,

Hi,

I've made a fix in the latest version (0.9.17.0) which corrects some issues with smart sizing / scaling of remote sessions.

Perhaps you can try with this version and let me know whether the rendering issues are still occurring when resizing a scaled connection :)

Thanks, Richard
