I'm using the trial version and trying to figure out to purchase or not. I'm having a problem and I don't know if it's me or a bug in the product.
I have two SSH Shell connections set up to linux servers. The two servers are as exactly the same and I can get them. I built them from the same check list. In one of the connections the up and down arrows work to give me the previous command history. On the other server they give me junk.
I'm compared both the Terminal and Keyboard tabs and they are exactly the same.
BTW, it really would have been nice if the programmers had made the properties boxes non-modal so you would easily compare the properties of two connections against each other.
Am I doing something wrong or is there something odd in the program.
I can tollerate it's other oddities, but this one it too much.
Bernie
Hi
Right-click, clipboard, copy will give you a textual representation. Using kdiff3 you could compare the two.
Alternatively you export the entries to the rdm format and compare the files using windiff or any file comparison tool.
What other oddities are you experiencing?
Maurice
Ack, lost my reply.
Quick review;
Slow to boot compared to the MS solution.
Cluttered UI with things that don't get used 99% of the time.
Out of control modal dialogs that cover every other program.
I had a couple of others but have forgotten.
I compared the two outputs and they were effectively the same. One had more password changes, but that shouldn't effect the keyboard, hahaha.
Hi
By MS solution, what product do you mean?
As for the clutter, we support more then 160 tools and technologies. Our product strategy is really to help IT teams with strong support for the technologies they use in their day to day operations. We realize that some users need only a few of the technologies we support, but we try to make our products as simple to use as possible. Sorry for not meeting your expectations.
As for your session history issue, does putty react the same way for sessions to both servers?
