We use RDM 9.0.3.0 with SQL Data Source.
I would like to deny some users read access to passwords. They should be able to use them to login to a session and they should be able to change sessions to save new passwords.
In the Data Source setting Password Policy there is an option with different meanings in german and english user-Interface:
When i use english settings:
"Allow show credentials (If enabled in session)"
When i use german settings:
"Kopieren des Kennworts in die Zwischenablage zulassen (wenn in der Sitzung aktiviert)" I try to translate: "Copy password to clipbord (If enabled in session)"
I think the german translation is the correct entry and the english Option is old or wrong.
Now i activate this setting in my Data-Source. I dont give the user the right to show the password in his usersettings, but he should be able to change sessions.
Now he can activate the setting in an session "Allow show credentials (everybody)". And after that he can copy the password to clipbord over Clipboard - Password. Then he paste it in an editor and can see the password even i dont want him to.
greetings
Christoph
Hi,
First of all the English translation is the right one because it's no longer only related to the clipboard. You need to disable the Reveal password if you don't want the user to view the password or copy it to the clipboard. The only exception is with the data entry.
