Good afternoon,
I've got a strangeproblem using RDP sessions.
I cannot connectto some servers/IP addresses. When I add the RDP connection (embedded orexternally, console or 'normal' connection), everything looks fine.
But as soon as Itry to load it, it pops open and closes right away.
If I remove the connection and add a new one with thesame IP address/servername, the problems exists again. Changing the sessionname does not help.
Other servers work fine, also when I add new ones, itgoes right.
I use multiplemachines, and they all got the same problem. When I use RDP directly (withoutRDM), everything goes fine.
Also, the serversI am connecting to, are not that different than all the others (server 2008 and2008 r2).
If I look atconnections.log, I see a Connecting to.... and almost immediately aDisconnected from.
Tested it frommultiple pc's, with versions 5.8.3.0 and 5.8.1.0. Also seen it in previousversions (5.7.x.x), but thought it was something on our side.
Can you look intoit?
Thanks,
Sander
Hi,
Have you tried to set the Network Level Authentication to true in the advanced tab of the RDP settings?
David Hervieux
David, you are great and just earned another license update for the next year!!!!
Thanks! Problem solved; case closed!
Hmz..... At first, it looked like the problem was solved, but unfortunately it reappeared again. Also on my colleagues pc's. Both from Windows 7 and Windows XP as clients.
The strange thing is that it only seems to be a problem connecting to W2K8R2 servers. Authentication could be the issue, but it is strange that with two exactly the same RDM connections (duplicated from each other), one connects fine and the other one connects and disconnects right away?!
Breaking news!
Just found out that the problem could be with Network Level Authentication indeed.
For an example: I created a RDM connection named "TERMINAL". Configured and tested it, everything works fine.
I duplicated the connection to "TERMINAL2". Tested it, everything works fine.
As soon as I open and successfully login to one of the connections, the other doesn't work anymore!
Also, if I open "TERMINAL" on my pc, my collegue can't connect to both "TERMINAL" and "TERMINAL2". It doesn't even popup the username and password screen.
FYI: Using SQL as a database server. Password is not saved in the database.
Hopefully it helps finding out/replicating the issue.

also, using 5.9.0.0 now; problem still the same.

Maybe I've found the fix. Please stand-by for more information; no need to examine this problem right now. I will get back to you guys.
